Well, they deliver at 2am. You know that is an extra star right there. We discovered Big E totally randomly. After doing a ghost tour at the Queen Mary (no ghosts), some barhopping, and walking around the bay, we get back late to our hotel (Maya Hotel) and see Big E pull up right outside our hotel building. Oooooo, late night munchies! We accost the pizza delivery guy and interrogate him on how late they deliver, does he have an extra menu, etc. He was friendly and patient as we peered into his car for food sightings. But here is where Big E really saved us. Last morning of our stay here, and the hangover gods are not being kind. While I debated whether putting a gun to my head or throwing myself off of our 5th floor balcony would be the better way to go, we spy the Big E menu on the coffee table. Yes. That will do. Pizza, wings, and salad yelp.com/biz_photos/F97i… . The gal on the phone recommended their bleu cheese dressings. She said their dressings were good and housemade. So I got ranch and Italian also. Now, after perusing the reviews here, I don't believe this is the best pizza in Long Beach. The crust is really soft and doughy yelp.com/biz_photos/F97i… . More like bread then pizza crust. Not what I would pick as a first choice pizza, but I would take it with 2am delivery!!! The wings were actually really good yelp.com/biz_photos/F97i… . And the ranch and Blue cheese WERE really good and thick and creamy yelp.com/biz_photos/F97i… . The hot sauce that came with the wings actually was perfect with the pizza. It helped give some flavor to the soft bland crust. I'd probably give this a solid 3.5 stars if I could for the good wings and 2AM deliveries, hotel delivery and excellent dressings. Pizza dough is seriously lacking but works for late night munchies and hangovers..

Ok so I normally love this place and I always have good experience here but if they are really busy on a weekend, then I would recommend going to pick it up. The last time we ordered a large cheese pizza and a meatball sub, it was so cold when we got it an hour later. They aren't even a mile away and it's just down the street so I'm thinking they made our stop the LAST stop!! So I probably won't be having them deliver to me and will probably just go pick it up.

I'm in college so the late-night delivery is a HUGE plus when you have all the other freakin' places closing at around midnight even on weekends. The first time I ordered here it took forever to place my order but I was hungry, it was 2 AM, and I didn't care as long as I'd be getting some hot food soon. They delivered it about an hour later, food was hot, and even though I ordered spaghetti, they gave me ravioli. I love Italian food and I wasn't about to send back perfectly good food so i went ahead and dug in. Excellent portion size, tons of melted cheese on top, ground beef was OK and ravioli was nice. I ordered again late night a week later and they got my order right (spaghetti with meatballs) and it was pretty damn good. Point is, if you don't mind a bit of a wait and/or some miscommunication (I sure don't but some people on Yelp are terribly anal so idk) it's good moderately priced Italian DELIVERED LATE NIGHT! And that's all I want from this place.

Was excited to try this place based off of reviews. Too bad, customer service was poor. I had initially placed my order as a pick up but changed it to delivery. Confirmed my address and phone number and was told it would be 35 mins ETA. 1.5 hours later.... I'm wondering where my pizza is? Called them back, spoke with the same girl who said I had ordered it for pick up! Way to go sweetie.... If you can't take orders correctly, give your job to someone who can.

I went to this place last night based on a good review from a friend. We arrived and the food smelled great and the prices were not too bad either. I thought it was going to be a great experience. However, here is how it went: We ordered 2 pastas and a spaghetti dish to go and we sat down at a table to wait. The place got crowded and I saw that they were busy, so I expected somewhat of a wait. We saw a a few small groups and a large group sit down AND get their food before we did. After 45 minutes went buy I went to the front counter and asked where our food is. THEY FORGOT ABOUT US. It seems as though the food had been sitting there for a while, because they packed it up pretty quickly and gave it to us. I heard them mutter something about forgetting about the slip. They offered us an extra drink but no explanation on why we got our food so late. They were trying to avoid us as they seemed like they didn't want to face the problem. When we opened up our dishes to eat our food and it actually tasted like it had been under the heat lamp for a while. Even the garlic bread wasn't fresh. I was so disappointed that I decided to write my first review. I will never recommend this place or order from them again. After reading a few other reviews, it looks as thought this is not the first time that someone had to wait a decade for food that ended up a disappointment.

I swear I had good pizza here at least once, but that might have been 10-20 years ago. The sauce has no flavor, the ribs had no meat and instead of a two liter that was promised in the deal I got a large soda. I might try them again if Valentinos goes out of business but seriously it was so bad that Valentinos pizza was better.

Great pizza place in long beach! I would definitely recommend this place to people. The only reason im giving it a four is because of the wait time; for pick up they tell you a 20-30 minute wait when really it's like 45 to an hour. And sometimes the quality is not always top notch. But for the most part this place is amazing!

  • Emily M.

The food is surprising good for a mom and pop type of pizzeria . I've ordered for take out, delivery, and dine-in. The issue I have with dine-in isn't that big of an issue but the place is small and I usually order for take out and delivery. The drivers I've gotten have been nothing but nice and patient. On the other hand the call to put in my order is totally different. The people who answers the phone which is always female voices are rude. They're tone over the phone is unpleasant and they are not polite. Same with the take out. I go to talk to them and they have a big line of customers and they spend there time on the phone or talking to each other while attending customers. They rarely are ever nice when I go. Over all I would have given this a 5 star rating but the negative incidents keep occurring and nothing seems to be done about it. ..

Nothing exciting about the pizza or wings. Clean and good customer service but egh probably will not go back for pizza. Maybe pasta one day.

This is the only place I know of besides a wing joint or certain sports bars that I can consistently get a decent order of wings from. Sometimes I get a fixin for wings so this is a huge plus for me. As for the other menu items I've yet to be dissapointed. I get that a big part of pizza is the dough....and their dough is not super awesome amazing.....but it's not worse than most other places. Toppings are always fresh and abundant, so or portions for the pasta dishes. Have not tried any of the rib plates. I've been a patron of this place for about two years and have yet to have a bad experience with them. Which reminds me, I always get my food in the estimated delivery time, and the foods always piping hot - had to wait a bit to dig into the pizza last time lol. I only say that because several people have had a bad delivery experience with them....I've ordered from them dozens of times and never had this problem....so I'm hard put yo believe staggered delivery times is the norm. I think you get good quality and quantity for your money here. I've eaten in too, but the place is pretty small - even if no one else is there I feel cramped. I recommend giving em a shot unless you absolutely can't stomach mediocre pizza dough...even then there are plenty of other options on the menu.

I really should have remembered to remember to review Big E's. Just had it again tonight so here goes. Pizza is really good. Bacon, sausage, canadian bacon. Add a little pepperoni for a little extra heartburn and were on! Hot wings are also good and hey, the price is right! Delivery guys are always friendly greeting me with a smile. Food arrives in a timely fashion and never any pizza delivery drama. Phone orders go smooth as a whistle. Only con I can see is, well, I can't really think of any!

  • Candice C.

Delicious! This is what pizza should always taste like, the dough isn't chewy, the sauce is perfectly seasoned and the cheese is that real cheese... that gooey, stretch for miles type of cheese!! Ordered the wings also, although they weren't as crispy as I like, they were fall off the bone juicy. Just threw them in the oven for a few minutes and they were perfect. This is our new pizza spot, no more big chain pizza for us!

  • Melissa L.

I love this place. The pizza is delicious. They have great service. It has plenty of parking. Its cute inside with 6 tables. Has a tv and beer! When you order delivery they are quick and the food is still hot. I always come here for pizza.

  • Paula A.

Not only do they have amazing pizza. But their pasta is excellent too! And it comes with this big bowl of salad! I live like 3 blocks away so this place is mine and my family's go-to place--especially if it's lent season. Their margheritta pizza is the best I've had. Also, if you ever come here and you still have room for dessert, cinnamon bread sticks for sure!

  • Veronica O.

Not only are they open late, but the pizza is great too. Great crust, nice sauce and they aren't stingy with the toppings. I also really love their calzones. It is definitely enough for two meals for me but the boy can eat his at one sitting. Delivery is convenient too but they are so close to my house I usually pick up.

A couple days ago friends and I decided to come here based on fantastic reviews from another friend. First impression: The place was small, seemed like a family owned/friendly business. I loved the decor with all the pictures and movie stuff. Seemed like the majority of the staff were young high school girls. When we arrived it wasn't packed just had a couple people in there already eating or waiting for their orders. We didn't order much just 3 orders of pasta. After we ordered we decided to sit down and just chatter until they called us up for our orders. A couple minutes go by and it starts to get crowded. I see people order, sit down and receive their orders a couple minutes after. I'm thinking in my head hummm, why are they getting their orders first when they just came in? At first I assumed it was just quick because the majority ordered pizza and not pasta. After about 45 minutes to an hour we were like what the f***. Decided to go up to the counter and figure out what was going on. Turns out they FORGOT ABOUT OUR ORDER. The whole time they were trying to avoid the fact that they forgot and tried to offer a small compensation for the delay. Really 45 minutes to get 3 orders of pasta together that were the size of a cereal bowl... It was obvious that they forgot due to the fact that they never called us and was like what when we asked for our order. They packed it up pretty damn quick too, meaning they had it sitting there for a good half hour. We took it home and started to chow down, right away I was already disappointed. The cheese was like rubber over the pasta, the pasta itself was burnt and crisp at the edge of the container, and the damn garlic bread was soggy! They obviously forgot about our order and had the food sitting around, they should have not even given us that order and produced a new FRESH order and compensated us at least 50% off for the frustration. Because they could care less about their customers I gave them this 1 star review because there was no option for negative stars. After reading a couple other reviews, it turns out this is a pretty common thing here. I guess that's what you get for listening to a friend about places to go before reading reviews. Also maybe if they hired staff that were not just high school students maybe they would get their shit straight.

Ok so they deliver later than anyone else and sell beer but the pizza still isn't good and when you're told your pizza will be there in 20 minutes (ordered at 215am) but delivered OVER AN HOUR LATER (knock on the door at 330am) you have passed out, don't want pizza anymore and now hate the deliverer for waking you up. I would rather go to sleep hungry than order their food again.

Great food!! Almost everything on the menu is good. I feel like their sandwiches are better than subway from next door. Ordering during the weekend can be a little crazy considering that their always busy, but hey it's not their fault they are popular. Also big thing is that always open late.plus for me

  • Alicia C.

giving 1 star bc they charged me twice and took them 4 days to refund me. thier prices online are different from what they actually charge you! always double check prices with these people... the pizza has.been not great last few times ordering nor has the bread sticks or anything else. will no long order from them! and the phone person normally rude when calling and ordering. CRAPPY PLACE. there are so many other better places around.

The only reason I give them a 3 star is because they are reliable, open late, and deliver beer if you're in a crunch and can't get any for whatever reason. (Super pricey beer though!) Pizza is ok, not bad, but not the best around here. They are solid though, so its worth trying it.

Best pizza place in Long Beach for sure. Actually probably anywhere near long beach. We go here all the time. Love the KING KONG pizza for parties! It's so massive you need to bend it to get it on the door. Great quality cheese, all around great pizza

Terrible terrible terrible god awful....wanted to get a delivery order to a hotel... Was placed on hold for almost five mins..no big deal around lunch time busy I assume The girl came back on the phone...no personal connection what so ever, acted like whatever what's my order...and tried to get my information...spoke very cleary and gave the area code first...and she said that's too many numbers its area code 562 and what?....I told her no its *** area code....took a while to just give her my information.... She then told me to hold on as I'm trying to order...I heard her muffling in spanish to shut up and God only knows what else...I'm sorry but if she couldn't hear me all she had to do was be genuine to tell me that and say sorry...really piss poor customer service....im sure the food is good based from the reviews but don't want to know what they are doing to it if the customer service is just awful...... A note to the business a lil kindness and communication goes along way espically over the phone delivery orders Won't be even trying this place!

After a long fun night at the Fantasy Castle we can always rely on Big E pizza! I've never been let down by the pizza, sometimes it does take a while to get to you, but they are really popular especially so late at night, you see cars with the Big E driving around all night, always hoping this one is yours but wah wah, it will be the next! Great crust and pizza options!

  • Melissa F.

I love Big E. Tonight I had an extra large with green peppers and mushrooms, around 1am. Which is awesome, that they deliver so early in the morning. I also love that the slices are uneven, so the people you are sharing it with do not have to man-handle the pieces to tear into a half. Oh, and friendly staff...Huge Fan. A+++++

BIG E!!! u saved me from my late night cravings! My friend and I were wanting to eat something, I mentioned pizza. It was almost midnight, we were yelping what pizza places were open! I just remembered abt this place. He also mentioned how this was the only pizza place he would go to during his CSULB years! Nostalgia! Pizza was cooked in 15mins. The place was covered in itallian icons. With a HUGE flatscreen TV mounted in the corner. Pizza is delicious! tho i don't like the crust!

  • Jasmine L.

Pleasantly surprised that is pizza was good!! Their wings are not bad either. Don't order the salad here expecting something exciting and new - it's a pizza place and they do it well. They always have the standard pizza deals so look out for that as well.

I love the food but the in store service sucked. I had a feeling like I was setting in a 1963 down south White's only restaurant our services so so far under the other people that ordered after us I almost asked for my money back.

Tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago.. kept meaning to write a review.. so here it is! So glad i came across this lil place.. it's one of those places you keep passing and keep meaning to try, but for one reason or another never do. Well, one day i had a craving for chicken alfredo .. yelped it of course and this place showed up. Thought to myself, what the hay, called it in, and first of all the girl that answered was super nice! Great customer service! The food though??? The food was better than i expected!! The Alfredo sauce was just right!! Oh so yummy!!! My sister had one bite of mine and i almost had to fight her off so she wouldn't finish it all! The moral of the story, if you keep passing a place and your gut ( literally , haha) tells you to stop and try it out??? STOP!!!! Yup! Wish i would've tried this place sooner!! Next i try the pizza!!

It's soft, chewy, and gooey..its pretty awesome..toppings were fresh, I ordered a medium jalapeno, mushroom, and canadian bacon...I ate all by myself excrpt one slice..yea, it was that good!

  • Ravi M.

Big E is definitely one of the best pizzas in Long Beach, at least best 'slightly deep' dish. It's not the fanciest place, but it's a really nice, family run joint, that is open late and will bail you out when you've got a midnight craving. The tables and chairs might be a bit plain, but it makes up for it in warmth of its people. Moreover, they deliver even up til 3 a.m. most nights! Head you there to sample one of their combo pizzas and enjoy their chewy dough, flavor toppings, and zesty cheese!

I have ordered from this place for about a solid year. Working graveyards is mentally taxing and what's awesome is that Big E's is always open when I'm done with the majority of my work and I'm ready for some food. I've had pretty much the main staples here: pizza, pasta, and wings, and I must say that they are very good for the price and the convenience of ordering pizza to be delivered in the wee hours of the morning. The food is pretty consistent and it tastes good! What more can you ask?

Ordered a Medium Hawaiian to go. Friendly service --- two young ladies up front Saturday night were great. My pizza was tasty but a lot of crust at the top that I was not wanting to eat. I ate my pizza within 10 minutes of picking it up so it was hot and the cheese, canadian bacon, and pineapple lifted/separated from pizza like a blanket so when I reached to lift a slice up out of the box, I was sitting their with a bald piece of crust with sauce. And the toppings did not fall off onto the cardboard like some pizzas into this huge blobby pile, but all the toppings remained intact----like a bed sheet of cheese, canadian bacon and pineapples on top of the pizza. Seeing that probably does not sound appetizing and it could be operator error but overall, tasty choice if you need a late night pie and you are in the area. And I agree with other Yelpers, I'd call this a thick-crust pizza, not necessarily Chicago-style.

Hello Big E Pizza! (Jimmy) Thank you for catering my New Year's Eve party!! Everybody was complimenting the food. Great choices of 3 different pastas, wings and salad. Of course all the Pizzas were delicious! You suggested the right amount of food, and you prepared everything to last the entire length of the party. I was equally impressed by the follow up phone call the next day to see how everything worked out. Thanks again and Happy New Year!!

I have ordered pizza from Big E a half dozen times and must say it is really good pizza. The delivery service is good and they have a great carry out special for a 3 topping large pizza. There is not much room to sit as of now however I think they are expanding the dinning area in the next couple of months.

It's pretty tasty especially got those drunken nights where everyone is hungry & can't drive. They are open really late & delivers. There's an APP called eat 24 so you don't even have to call in your order. I hear they deliver beer too. I'll keep that in mind.

I haven't had big e pizza in years. I don't know why but it has just been that long. I ordered it today and damn it was the same bomb ass food with generous portion size. The fact that they are open to 3am is a huge plus as well!!! Thank you big e for being the lb staple food that i remember!!!

Somethings different about Big E's I have a hunch they are using a different type cheese now and so I decided to ask and employee that WORKS AT BIG E's and my reply "Everyone keeps asking but I don't think so" Hilarious! Sadly now their cheese keeps my jaw well exercised and the cheese peels of the pizza once you take it out of the box! Caution if you decide on delivery they will charge you a delivery fee (which doesn't go towards the drivers) and a card fee if you use plastic as a form of payment. RIP Big E's! it was a pleasure knowing you. RANDOM FACT: October is the National Pizza Month in the United States.

CHEERS Big E! I was a bit skeptical only because Im that person who ends up writing the one bad review in the sea of a ton of really great ones. I called, placed my order drove on down (super easy to spot on PCH).Right as I drove up about 5+ guys had just walked in to place their orders. I wasnt sure if I should cut in front and begin my justification of "I placed a phone order" or if I should just stand there and wait my turn (maybe it wasnt ready yet anyhow). The girl at the register who was not only taking orders from the guys in line but also answering the phone and taking phone orders. She looked at me and quickly asked if I had a phone order and brought me to the front of the line. So Congrats on the customer service that is what will keep me coming back .. . The Pizza? I ordered a medium pepperoni. It was SOOOOO GOOD!! Delicious and perfect. I cant wait to order some other items Im sure i wont be disappointed.

I have ordered from here a few times using the eat24 app. I tend to order the same thing because it is so good. I get the pastrami sandwich. It is amazing the meat and cheese are great quality. I also get the antipasto salad it is pretty good. I am never disappointed even when I order late at night.

This place has the best spaghetti in my opinion. The meatballs alone are worth coming here. Hand made and not the processed mushy kind. Some places give you one meatball, most give you two but here at Big E's you get three! You gotta try it. Also they are expanding this location.

I've been eating at this place for 5 years and never had a problem. Tonight I ordered a pizza and found a GIANT chard of glass in there. I called the restaurant and asked for my money back, and the manager tried to send me another pizza instead, yelled at me and hung up the phone on me. Then an hour later, there is a knock on my door because they sent the driver back to take the pizza and the chard of glass. Then he stood there saying how they have no glass in the entire place. I threw the pizza away because I didnt think to save bad pizza, and he watched as I dug threw the trash to find it. Id never had a problem with this place, and now I will never eat there again. Mistakes happen, and I understand that, but bad customer service is a choice. Do not eat from this place, the customer service is TERRIBLE!!

For the first time EVER I have had an issue with this company. Order was not complete, I called into the shop right away, and after 20 minutes driver still had NOT returned. 2nd call made and I was placed on hold - and needless to say, call made to driver and guess who was at the door. I will give it to the driver who offered to return the tip...We are simply turned off by Mgr who took call from Big E. Not gonna order from here for a long, long time.

This place is really a 3 star, A-ok place, the fact that they're open till like 2-3 in the morning gets them the extra star. I like the pizza and pasta, their delivery takes forever. To make up for that, they deliver beer, which really, is a sustainable business plan on it's own.

Big E's crowning achievement has to be late night delivery. Good luck finding another place that delivers after midnight, especially on a Sunday. Since they're the only show in town, they kinda have the market cornered on late night food delivery. But I imagine even during daylight hours they'd still give you a run for your money. Their pizza is pretty good. I suggest ordering the specials, cuz the standard orders can stack up pretty quick. A 3 topping large closes in at 20 bucks, but they have combos that give you three times the food for that price. As for the pizza itself, its pretty tasty. Good toppings, good sauce, great cheese (and lots of it). The only downer is the crust. There's too much of it, and it has no flavor. I suggest getting some kind of sauce to dip it, if you dont toss it outright. The girl taking orders is a bit of a space cadet, so be sure to be thorough with your order, and get that shit confirmed. After placing my order, they said they would call back with my total, but that call never came. So after 10-15 minutes I called em back and straightened it out. At least the delivery guy was quick. About 5 min after the phone call my pizza arrived. So service kinda balances out in the end.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! We found ourselves hungry on a Monday night at 11 pm. Oh, what should we do? We logged on Eat24 and ordered the Grecian pizza from Big E Pizza. Food delivery usually takes about an hour so we were patient... until it was almost 12:15 in the morning. We contacted Eat24 and the person said that the driver was about 10 minutes away. Fifteen minutes roll by excruciatingly... we are starving at this point. We contact Eat24 again and the person said that they will give us a $5 discount on the pizza and it will be there soon. The pizza is so late we should have gotten it for free but we were starving at this point to argue. Just give me the damn pizza!! Finally at 1 AM IN THE MORNING, the pizza arrives. We open the box and IT'S NOT EVEN COOKED. The tomatoes are still raw. The dough was still wet and not even in bread form yet. The whole thing was moist and there was water/oil leaking through the box. WE WAITED TWO HOURS FOR THIS PIZZA AND THEY COULDN'T EVEN MAKE IT RIGHT. IF YOU MAKE ME WAIT TWO HOURS FOR PIZZA THIS BETTER BE THE BEST DAMN PIZZA OF MY LIFE. We had to contact Eat24 once again and the driver took the pizza back and gave us a refund. They forgot about our order, tried to rush it out and that was just a complete waste of time. SERIOUSLY THE WORST PIZZA EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. DISGRACE TO BE A PIZZA PLACE YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES.

Late Friday night in Long Beach approximatly 215am I saw TWO Big E Pizza delivery cars driving irradically and basically racing each other on Redondo blvd and PCH. Very scary. They almost hit multiple cars and did a uturn in the middle of PCH at a red light. Hopefully no one was hurt.

Came here for dinner tonight - SO GLAD I DID. Holy crap. I found this pizza place on Yelp (naturally). While I do like pizza, I'm no pizza fanatic by any stretch of the imagination. I never crave pizza. It's very rare that I do, and tonight was the night. As my stomach gurgled with insane hunger after work, I decided that this would be my place of dine-age... I would not let this opportunity slip me by. Usually, with pizza I'm insanely picky and don't even like to order or share a pizza with others because of it. I went here with just my boyfriend and it obviously ended up being just fine. The decor is pretty awesome although the entire room is pretty small. There's not an open space on the wall, I tell ya. It's covered in posters and pictures, most from The Godfather and The Sopranos. Lots of Italian mafia. :) You also walk two saloon-style swinging doors to get to the bathrooms which are labeled "Don" and "Donna" respectively. We ordered a medium sized pizza (which they cut into eight slices), and an order of a dozen hot wings. They asked what kind of dipping sauce and I got all excited at that point when I knew I'd be having ranch with my wings. My boyfriend asked how spicy they were and the girl just kinda smiled and said, "Wellllll, they're pretty mild. I can put extra sauce in there for you if you want extra sauce." and I said, "Nah, it'll be fine. Thank you though." Well, when they served us the hot wings minutes later, she STILL put a huge portion cup thing full of buffalo wing sauce. I guess in case we changed our mind. That was awfully nice. The wings were decent. Great flavor. Not soggy or anything. We had four toppings on the pizza, so obviously the 4th topping was extra, but who cares? We had pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, and onions. I really enjoyed it. It was awesome crust; not too thick and not too thin. Tons and tons of cheese. When you pull the slices away the cheese holds it back... so gooey. They were really generous with the toppings, too, so I didn't feel ripped off. It was super affordable. Our entire bill was $23 for a medium pizza (including the extra $1.50 for the extra topping), a dozen hot wings, and a small drink. This place rocks. Staff was really friendly. We didn't have a problem with it being crowded. We came in at 8pm tonight (Sunday) and only one table was being occupied out of the five. They're open really late every day, and deliver pretty damn far. I LOVE THIS PIZZA. WHOO!

Always friendly, always yummy, always hot! You know it's a good place if you see cops eating there all the time. Not a lot of seating inside, so be ready to take it home or eat in your car. My husband and I only eat pizza in Long Beach from Big E. I like their thin crust pizza with pineapple, ham, and green peppers, whereas he is a fan of their pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom. I only live a couple of blocks away, so we just pick it up instead of having it delivered. They have good calzones too. They are generous with the red pepper packets and Parmesan cups and will give you plates if you ask for them. Another reviewer mentioned the fake 7-11 next door to buy sodas... hey, if you're patronizing a non-franchised business, why not patronize two in the same trip? It's always a good idea to buy from local small businesses. They need the money. Overall, a great Long Beach spot. Two thumbs way up.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK I came across this place last year when I moved to Long Beach. Looked like a nice place to try it out on a Friday nite. I called in my order and was told my total and that it would be ready in 20 minutes. No problem. I arrived exactly 20 minutes after I hung up...come to find out my pizza needed a few minutes. Ok, no problem I can wait. It didn't seem like a busy time or night. I sat down for 10 minutes. At this point its been a total of 30 minutes since I ordered. As the lady heads back to check on my pizza...she pulls it out from a stack of pizzas waiting on the top of the pizza oven. She had to remove a pizza and some small boxes, possible hot wings, to get my pizza. One year later: same exact thing happens again. This time I waited even longer after being told it needed a few minutes. I am sorry but at least be honest with me on the time. Don't forget the pizzas that sit on the top of the oven, they could be the last one you give away.

I'm not sure what the big hoopla is about this place. I ordered chicken wings "extra extra well done" and they came back chewy and barely cooked. I imagine if I didn't specify doneness, they would have arrived with feathers still on them. The main issue is my cinnamon squares. Not only were they hard and cold, the side of "icing" that came with them was ranch dressing! Huh???

This has to be the most dysfunctional pizza place I've ever dealt with. First I have to deal with a pizza delivery man with a mean and snobbish attitude. He banged on my door in the middle of the night waking every one in my home. He was visibly upset all because he did not notice there were two numbers listed for him to call when he was outside. He told me in an irritated voice "I called you a million times." The manager was nice enough to call me and offer me 50 percent off my next order but 2 weeks later I call back and the lady who answers the phone charges us $5.00 tax on a $14 order. The $14 included the delivery charge so the $5.00 according to her was "tax". So if my order is $19 this means that without the 50 percent off my order would total $38?? So two $8.50 pastas and a $2.50 cheese cake and $3.50 delivery charge equals $38.00??? I guess this is a slick way to not give us 50 percent off. I will never order food from this place again because I have been dissapointed two times in a row.

Bomb-Dizzle! Came here for lunch they have lot's of lunch specials from 9am-4pm just depends on what your flavor of the day is We ordred a large pep N cheese pizza, 3 dinner salads and 3 drinks for the grand price of $22 bucks...I thought that was super cheap considering the dinner salad was stacked! The pizza itself was super cheesy, not too much sauce but just enough, the crust just right...none of this thick ass greasy leaking crust you can't even bite into...this one was just a normal and regular hand-tossed one. It's a bit small...I asked if they deliver cervezas and they said yes which I think is what made me fall in love! Location wasn't one of the hottest spots...but if your skeptical about the area just call it in and they'll deliver your pizza N beer and i will be worh your wait!

I used to order from these guys regularly when I lived in Long Beach. They are delicious, speedy, and a great deal! I particularly like their ravioli with the Alfredo sauce. Mmmm good! Every meal comes with garlic bread and a salad. Can't beat the price or taste!

My family has been ordering pizza from Big E for about 20 years and it used to be so good. I moved to orange county a couple of years ago and recently moved back to long beach and its not good anymore. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was for the lovely memory of a yummy pizza. I ordered a Calzone today and it was so bland. The size of it was about the size of a half of a medium pizza, but it was so incredibly flat with just a little flavorless cheese and a handful of toppings. Makes me sad when a place changes things for the worst :(

At a quarter to midnight we decided to see what the big deal was. I played it safe, ordering a large pepperoni and a 2 liter. The freaking dude brought a 20 oz to go cup with ice!! And plates. And cheese and peppers. Big E's ftw!

Charged me twice by accident. Talked to Jimmy and corrected the transaction. He also gave a free medium pizza! With that being said, the food is one of the best in town!

Dude, this place rocks. It's open late, they had that 10% check in offer. The people are really nice, and there never seems to be a huge wait, or lots of people here (I guess that's because I go around 1am..lawls). I've only had their personal pizzas, but when it's late at night, and you've got the pizza munchies, this place is my new go to spot! :D

What you've heard is true, they deliver beer! I realize in LA this is rare, so enjoy it. Pretty good delivery area, and coupons and specials. I went to their website and mentioned the coupon when I ordered. Got a large pepperoni for $10, more than enough food for 2 people. We decided to drive and pick it up since we were nearby, loved the pictures of Tony Soprano and general Italian pride, complete with checkered tablecloths. Staff was friendly, and the cleanliness was impeccable.

I recently moved to the area and wanted some delivery other than the regular run of the mill pizza delivery. I was searching for New York style, but I couldn't find a thing in my area, so I tried Big E Pizza. I believe it's more of a Chicago style. Both times I've had them so far, the delivery was prompt, nice driver, and the pizza was pretty decent. Last time I ordered, they forgot my salad, and the driver offered to go back, but I said it's fine, and I'd get it with my next order. Overall, pretty good and I will probably order again, at least until I find a good New York style in my area or something better.

Giving this place one star is generous after my experience. I ordered food from this place and had to wait an hour an a half until it arrived. I called to check and see where it was since they claim to have *fast delivery* and they told me the driver left a while ago and it should be there within minutes..another 20 minutes goes buy and then he FINALLY arrived. By the time I got my food my bread sticks were so cold and hard and my sandwich was soggy and gross it was just not edible. I was very upset with my experience and the fact that I had to pay $20 for food that I couldn't even eat. I will never return to this place.

Finally I found great pizza delivery in LB... And they deliver until 1 AM weekdays and 3AM weekends?? AND they deliver beer and wine?? YES. Delivery was faster than the estimated time and the girl on the phone was so pleasant to me even though I called back a couple times because I was confused with my online order. They have great coupons making their pizza really reasonable... and the pizza was delicious. I used the 2 medium pizza deal for 16.99 and ordered a pineapple/canadian bacon pizza and a salami/feta cheese pizza. Both were amazing. Not greasy at all, bursting with flavor, thick crust cooked to perfection. The only reason I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 stars is for that ridiculous $4.50 delivery charge that the driver doesn't even get. C'mon guys... you're almost perfect!

This is the best pizza I've had since I moved to LB over a year ago. I've been to both mecca's of pizza, NY and Chicago, and Big E's stack's up with the best of them!

Dear Mr E., My stomach could not handle your deliciousness. 12:20 AM While on a trip to California, I reached my destination very late that evening, due to transport delays. Upon arriving to the Sheraton, I inquired about possible late night eats in the area even before asking for my room key. "Oh, try Big E's Pizza. They have a big menu and deliver until 2 AM.", said the service attendant. Delivery until 2 AM?! Fascinating...more so considering few eateries in Hawaii deliver anything, let alone until such an hour. My tired, jet-weaken body welcomed this news eagerly. However, I would soon find out that my stomach could not handle your deliciousness. In my room, I scanned hungrily over the menu. Pressured, i decided to have the half dozen wings and the rib dinner. 40 minutes later, the delivery driver arrived with the afore-ordered culinary delicacies. Resisting the urge to hug him, I paid for my food and rushed back to my room with glutinous anticipation. Opening the bag, I realized that I had underestimated the power of the "E". 6 wings, 3 ribs, some salad, and bread. No problem, right? Wrong; for these were not just any late nite eats. These were Big E's late nite eats. Large, meaty, beef ribs almost burst from the paper, each one dripping tepidly with BBQ sauce. Spicy chicken wings to the left complimented. I dove merrily into this meaty feast. There were no survivors, save a few scraps of grizzle on unrecognizable bones. Satiated, I would shower, watch some television and retire for the evening. It was shortly thereafter that i discovered that my stomach could not handle your deliciousness. The remainder of the night was filled with heartburn, indigestion, nightmares, and hours of belching foulness i care not to remember. Still, I want to thank you for an incredibly delicious meal at such an hour as this. Until we meet again, may you continue to bless and curse the digestive tracts of people everywhere. Yours truly, "S"

This place was introduced to me by my girlfriend who lives right down the street. We were in the mood for pizza and I had been to deli news before and wanted to go there, but it was a weekend and they were closed. So she recommended Big E Pizza. And I am so glad she did. The quality of the pizza was very good and taste amazing. The atmosphere is very comfortable and I enjoyed looking at all the pictures of movie stars on the walls. The service was very friendly and fairly fast, considering how long it takes to make a pizza. Our pizza was brought out fresh and I believe it was the owner who came out and informed us that their wings are always fresh and never frozen. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and food and plan on going back soon.

This is by FAR one of the BEST Pizzas and HOT WINGS 'Eva! I NEVER used to eat hot wings until my fiance introduced BigE's Pizza to me! It's a tiny parlor and nice for a small group or just the two of you... my kids LOVE it there just because it's so different... they also sell and delivery wine.. My family are not drinkers but nice to know when we have company that does!

I found this place after being disappointed with my neighborhood joint, (pizza pi). I am so glad I found Big E. I am not a late night partier or booze hound. With that said, this pizza and wing place rocks. My desires are simple, Pepperoni with extra sauce and wings. Big E does both well. The pizza is better than your "pizza box" stores like Domino's Pizza Hut and Pop Johns. The wings are excellent. They are large, plump and cooked perfectly. Either Blu Cheese or Ranch is good, they both taste home made. The wing sauce is served on the side, I recommend you order extra hot sauce. When Big E screws up, They Fess Up. They delivered an order completely wrong. I ate the food because it was great. Then I called to complain and they comped my next pizza. Pizza Pi doesn't even consider customer service THIS GOOD. FTW....Big E Pizza (FTW=For The Win)

The first night we moved to Long Beach, we looked in the phone book & found this place. Three years later & it's still our go-to pizza place. The sauce is flavorful and delicious, and you can tell the dough is made fresh and never frozen; it's thick, soft, and perfect! Quick delivery service, friendly and personable staff, & their hours can't be beat! Hands down best pizza in the LBC ! :) Highly recommended!

Ok they deliver beer. 6 packs of beer on the cheap. The hot wings are actually my favorite thing to order. They give you loads of celery and carrots with lots of bleu cheese dipping sauce. They have ranch too but I am a bleu cheese kind of girl when it comes to wings. Their wings are so tender, the chicken just drops off the bone when you look at it and they are SPICY. Oh soooo gooood when you dip em in that cool fresh bleu cheese whip. The pizza is greasy and 3 stars worthy but definitely faster and better than Dominos or Pizza hut. I used to order from here all of the time before I moved to LA. It was my favorite food to study to uninterrupted. It is also great when you and your friends get home from the bar and you are starving and still want maybe one more beer. Price is $. I miss Big E's.

mmm...my favorite pizza delivery spot in LB...i love the pizza more every time i eat it! i always get the veggie pizza and it is delish...ingredients seem fresh and they're generous with them too! sometimes i order a small salad as well since they have the BEST blue cheese salad dressing... another bonus...they always say delivery will take 45 mins to 1 hour...and every time they're here in like 20 mins - nice! staff is friendly, they're open late and they also deliver beer!

Solid 4 star pizza joint. I've lived a block away from this place for awhile now and have never given it a try until recently. A friend recommended this place to me, so late one night after continuously opening and closing the refrigerator door and coming to the realization that there was nothing to eat, I decided to place an order for pick-up. I ordered two large two topping pizzas; canadian bacon & Jalapeno and pepperoni & sausage all for around $20. I showed up and my pizza was ready to go and still hot when I got home. I thought the pizza was pretty good, not Chicago deep dish by any stretch of the imagination, but not bad for a local spot. Sauce was good, toppings were good, crust was a little on the dry side but my side of ranch took care of that. I ordered here a few days later and tried the buffalo wings which were also pretty good. Checkout their website for weekly specials.

The pizza at this place is very good. My husband loves to drive out here to dine in because he loves his pizza nice and fresh. The only thing is that we've been here before and left because there wasn't anywhere to sit because it was so crowded.

This is my favorite pizza place in the South Bay! It is so delicious. I eat here almost once a week--it's just that good. I see other reviewers have complained about "gooey" cheese and 'fluffy" crust...umm..aren't these considered GOOD THINGS when referring to pizza? Honestly, it's pizza. Cheesy, crusty, saucy pizza. I mean, what else do you want? The girls who work here are super sweet, and the pizza is perfect. Their wings are really good too. If you want some crazy, spicy, weird pizza, go to...um...i dunno, Dean's Pizza. They put curry on theirs.

Me- "One hour, are you joking?" Big E employee- "It's worth the wait, trust me" Me- "So I have been told" It is true, Big E Pizza is totally worth the wait. My neighbors who have lived in Long Beach for years kept telling me that Big E Pizza was the best delivery pizza in the city. I'm usually not a big fan of delivery pizza, I prefer to eat my pizza at authentic sit down Italian restaurants where I know the pizza will be fresh. Last night I had two friends come over for Sunday night football and they were suggesting we should order some pizza for the game. My friends know I loath places like Pizza Hut and Domino's so they decided to let me chose the place. Since I had heard many great things about Big E Pizza I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to try it. As you can see from the beginning of my review I was shocked when they informed me that the wait time for delivery was an hour. I could only think of two reasons why the wait time for two extra large pizzas would be so long. One reason is that they are so busy because of football or two because they make their own dough fresh and that is why it takes a little longer. I was so happy to find out that is was the latter reason (Their website confirmed it). The two pizzas we ordered were an EXL pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese and an EXL ground beef, salami, and bacon. Both these pizzas were amazing. The crust was a little on the thick side and had a crunchy outside and a super soft inside, it was delicious. They also have some of the best tasting sauce I have ever tasted from a delivery place. Their toppings were amazing as well. Another thing that I liked about Big E was that the pizzas were super hot when they got to my house, we actually had to wait a few minutes to let them cool off before we ate them. For two extra large pizzas with three toppings on each pizza and four sides of ranch dressing came to a total price of $34 bucks. Their pizzas are so good that I did not mind paying a little more then I would have then if we would have went with a place like Pizza Hut or Domino's. If you're looking for some great delivery pizza then Big E Pizza is for you. Just make sure you are not starving because you will have to wait a while for your food. P'S- They are open until 3am on weekends and they also deliver beer and wine.

"Best pizza in LB," as told by one of my best friend's boyfriend, Sahkal. We all came here around noon and got it to go. It's located on busy streets and the place isn't very visible but has a large sign. We ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple with jalepenos on the side. But it was so good and ate it on top of Skyline, perfect view with the perfect people :) We'll be coming back here when we're in the area! Parking is small and is right next to a liquor store.

I've had them delivered about 4 times in the past year. There are two major pluses: 1) They are open and deliver LATE. 2) They deliver beer & wine! On the minus side, their pizza sauce is very BLAND. Oddly enough, the meatball sandwich was alright... seemed like a different sauce, and much better portion for the price. Antipasto salad was good... but the dressing tasted bland and cheap, like the pizza sauce. Still... you can't beat convenience sometimes!

I bought an extra large pizza, with wings or something for delivery around 1:30 am, totaling about $30. The delivery guy comes with a small pizza. No need to say that is wasn't enough for our part of 3. so we rejected it. It has now been just shy of a month and these guys still haven't refunded my money. Today marks about the 15th time I called. The Manager is never there or in meetings and has not once returned a phone call. Beware when dealing with this company. I always pay cash when working with these guys now. Yes, I still go to them as they are one of the very few places open til 3 am. But on the real I been going to these guys for years and the one time they mess up, they just dont wanna fix it. I dont get it. I been a great customer. EFF Big E! ***update*** I called everyday i was available until a manager was present and went personally to get my refund. I ended up walking out of there with a large peporoni pizza. I did get my pizza, not the same pizza i ordered with the wings and 2 liter, but a large pizza.. and it was a few months late. Big E's is a busy place so its real easy for them to overlook mistakes. Their customer service isn't what I think it should be, but their pizza is good. i just had a bad experience and felt that they should have treated me sooner and not had me go through hoops to get a pizza.

Got into Long Beach, tired, after a long day's travel and took the hotel's recommendation on the best, area pizza delivery. We were reticent about ordering "Chicago-style pizza," since we're from the Chicago area (and why travel across the country to get homestyle cooking). Should have gone with that. Pizza was doughy, crusty, and lukewarm, tasting mostly of crust and greasy, cool cheese. The fresh basil was good, but that was the only thing to recommend the pizza. 40 minutes in Long Beach might be fast. In the Midwest, it's slow. I recommend visiting the original Second City if you want a good pizza. Can't recommend the Big E.

I have given this place a chance on multiple occasions, and every time something is wrong. This last time it had been ten minutes past the specified delivery time, and when I called the girl made a smart remark. The delivery guy had been sitting out in his car for god knows how long because my pizza was cold when I got it, and he didn't even cone to the front gate. For as much as they charge, that's not acceptable, and quite frankly the pizza isn't even all that good. Never ordering from here again!

ALFREDO FETTUCCINE FOR THE WIN!!! mMmMmM!! I always expect pasta to taste like sh*t at late night relatively cheap pizza places, but they really surprised me with this one. It was the perfect amount of flavor factor because alfredo usually comes out too bland or too salty. The noodles were perfectly al dente as well. I also got a small veggie pizza and I LOOOVED the dough and extra cheeze... the dough kinda reminded me of BJ's. Tiramisu was yummy in my tummy too! Yay for late night yummy food!

Sorry but Big E failed to deliver. I decided to check this place out as they had received good Yelp ratings, but I was really disappointed. The pizza arrived COLD, the dough was soggy and tasted like dough no flavor. I am a Foodie and have eaten at a lot of good pizza joints. Big E Pizza would be asked to pack their knives and leave. I will continue to make the drive over to Seal Beach when I get a craving for Pizza at Slice of New York Pizza on Main Street. They know how to do pizza right. I guess if you like big doughy pizza then Big E would make your grade, but not for me.

was so excited to try this place because they have everything I could want in a pizza place 1. Pizza 2. Hot wings 3. BBQ ribs 4. They deliver...yes you heard correctly..DELIVER...booze! I was in heaven! ordered the family meal for $20 which included pizza, wings and two sodas. Delivery was quick. The food was pretty bland. The pizza sauce had no taste to it and was not good. The BBQ wings were just okay. I have to say,I did like the BBQ sauce a lot but the wings were mushy. Order from Maris, deli news or pastas, any one sill be worth much more to your dollar.

Great pizza, but hint: Do NOT ORDER ON THEIR WEBSITE. I put in an order last night, and after an hour and a half, I finally called them. They said they didnt get the order "faxed" to them from their "operator" until a half hour ago. Just call the place if you want a delivery - its faster.

I love the Cheesecake and the pizza. I tired the chicken wings and it they weren't satisfying.

  • Mikelle W.

Huh???

Came here with some classmates in the middle of the week for lunch. And it was delish!! The pizza had me salivating, the breadsticks were good, their staff was friendly, and the prices were right! My only complaint is the small parking lot and seating. :-/ I wish I lived near by do that I can have it delivered. Oh, well...c'est la vie!

GREAT PIZZA!! I found this place through yelp one late Saturday night about two months ago and have been hooked ever since! The hours are great if you're a night owl, the staff are super friendly, and the pizza is very cheesy and good!! A few of my friends came over not too long ago and we ordered a few pizzas from Big E..Everyone has now become loyal customers.. The wings were also really good...Def. give it a try..u wont be sorry!!

We got busy so we went back to Big E for their pizza. We had the Philly again, we loved it last time, and it taste just as good this time. This is the place for pizza. Not a huge place but at 11:00 PM, the place was packed.

HANDS DOWN, BEST PIZZA in Long Beach!!!! My roommates and I always get the drunk munchies whenever we leave the bars on any typical weekend. Good thing Big E delivers til 3AM...I repeat...3AM!!! Insane right?! Granted they take an hour to deliver, but I will let you in on our little dirty secret ;) or you could think we are complete clever fatasses...but here it goes: We call Big E as the bar is closing down, take a cab home, and 10-15 minutes later the pizza is here!!! The ooey-goey cheese is simply mouthwatering and fully of gluttony. We always order Cheese and Jalepeno Pizza with a side of ranch. The combination of cheese, sauce, jalepenos, and hand tossed crust is perfect! They use the freshest ingredients and are the finest at their craft. P.S Order a side of Ranch, you will thank me for it. I don't usually like ranch, but I love the ranch at Big E's with their pizza. This pizza is worth every penny :) P.S.S They also deliver beer and wine. Who does that?! Big E's does :)))

I love Big E Pizza. We occasional order it at night when we do the graveyard shift at the hospital... and man is it a boost to the night! They are open late so it's never a problem for us to order a few boxes. Their cheese on their pizza is amazingly good and they have a variety of toppings as you would expect. So far, we've had the regular cheese, pepperoni, Hawaiian, and sausage pizza and all were pretty good in my opinion. I'm definitely going to have to actually come in to their place some time!

Family says The Sopranos. Family says The Corleones. Family says The Goodfellas. Family says Stallone, The Italian Stallion. Family is a pizza or pasta slapped up in ya face by Big E on PCH. The photos and posters that cover the walls tells ya that family is about true italian home cooking. Or at least a good marinara and melted cheese on anything. I've had almost everything here except for the BBQ and sandwiches, and it's not because I don't want to try them, but I just can't get away from ordering any of the delicious pastas or pizzas. Even though the lunch specials on the board are excellent values, I just can't bring myself to not order Baked Penne, Ravioli or Lasagna, with your choice of meat, whether it be sausage, ground beef or chicken. They're all so good, and they come with a pretty large bowl of salad, topped generously with shredded cheese along with a couple slices of garlic bread. The price will take you into the $11-13 dollar range with a drink, but you'll be able to take away at least another meal in leftovers. Service is friendly, and they'll bring your meal to your table and give you refills, (there's no self-serve fountain). The room is very small, most people take pizza out to go, but if you plan on eating in, there are about tables, and usually there's a couple tables open during the late lunch hour, which is after 1pm.

I did not give Big E Pizza a 1-star because of how it tasted. The pizza itself was just OK...it kinda reminded me of chuck e cheese pizza. I'm a little confused why so many people say "this is the best pizza around" because it most certainly is not even on a good day. Their website says that BOTH Big E Pizza and Big Nick's (the other location in san pedro) offers free delivery (not to mention this very yelp page offers the same special!) so i was like COOL no where else around me delivers for free, and I had heard such great things about this place I was looking forward to trying it. HOWEVER, while I was waiting the very long wait (over an hour) I was looking over my delivery confirmation receipt and noticed I had been charged $5 for a delivery fee. So I called up the restaurant and told them about this, and the girl I spoke to couldn't care less. She kept interrupting me and arguing with me that the website didn't really say that (when i was looking right at it). She even went on to say that if I didn't want to tip my delivery driver (since i paid $5 for delivery) that was up to me. I'm really sorry I wasted the time giving this place a try when my one true love of pizza is WAY closer, better, and less expensive...Buono's. Maybe Big E's should spend less money on their commercials and more money on quality.

Just when I thought Big E Pizza couldn't possibly be better, I ate their calzone. Forget their pasta, which comes with salad and garlic bread, and their great pizza. Next time you order at Big E, order a calzone. I assure you will not regret it.

Big E Pizza is really great pizza. The store is a tad small, although they do offer in-dining seating, Salad is fairly large and you can even order for delivery beer / wine. I've always just gone and picked up the pizza and never been disappointed. Great pizza at a fair price.

Big E's is a very straight-forward pizza joint. Good flavor, good people working and fine vibe. Nothing pops out, but nothing is sub-par. Good pizza, good prices. Why not?

As always, I wanted sushi. He wanted pizza. Since we're cutting back on spending we went for the latter. Called in and homegirl Minerva seemed so miffed that she was working graveyard on a Friday night. Few words of advice: Get off the bitter bus or get yourself a new job! I really wanted to give BIG one more star but seriously, the customer service is beyond sub par. We ordered Jimmy's Choice which included a large pizza with one topping (mushrooms), wings and two fountain drinks. I know, definitely not the best choice for a late dinner but it's nice to go all out once in a while, especially after an amazing one on one workout ;) Food arrived in an hour. The wings were some of the best I've had in a long time. I effed those babies up! The pizza was merely meh. The crust was the only part that I couldn't stand. Thick and flavorless. The rest, I didn't mind it too much but Tony kept taking just one bite and throwing the slices out. Wierdo. Two thumbs up for delivering downtown at such late hours.

I really like this place. And the pizza wasn't overly good, but it was better then ok. I doubt the hot wings were flown from New york, but they were ok, too. What I love about this place is the customer service. I had pizza delivered and the customer service was fantastic. They gave me a free large coke with my order for being a new customer, and paper plates, napkins, and various condiments that I hadn't asked for, but was very thankful to receive. I seriously hate washing dishes. The ground beef topping was the best ground beef I've ever had. It was a little greasy, but very well seasoned

My dad and I were driving home from LA to SD at 4pm, worst time to drive in LA beacuse of traffic... So we got hungry, So I looked up a place to eat. I found this Big E Pizza and WOW The wings were amazing!! The Pizza was even better! Its a small Pizza place and can only fit a group of 8 max of the table that sits in the middle and tables for 4 people on the sides and decorated with movie posters and photos. Very Nice place The funny things is, its not ran by Italians.

Big E's is fantastic. it's TRULY one of my guilty pleasures. Every time we've ordered from here, it's been awesome. Saturday night, we ordered IN, the BEAST Hot Sandwich, wings and a Greek Salad. Delivery is AWESOME to me ESPECIALLY when it's quality. Living in Orange County, I wish there was MORE delivery. I often fantasize about living in a city like NY or Chicago because there are SO many more food delivery places. The Sandwich is just SO bad its good. Bad in the way that I'm eating ALL of this flavorful goodness and I KNOW it's GOT to be so ridiculously UNHEALTHY, but it's WORTH every bite. They PACK on the meat in this Sandwich. It's a huge portion of meat with mayo slathered on tucked nicely inside SOFT fresh white rolls. The thick meat SCREAMS deli and ITALIAN. Seriously, it SCREAMS (with an Italian American accent too) LOL. The sandwich is FILLING. We usually split it and I am NOT feeling hungry 5 minutes later like I do when I eat at Subway. This sandwich is the REAL DEAL. The salad was IMPRESSIVE. I usually turn my nose at iceburg lettuce because it's just so blah to me. Big E's uses FRESH, crisp pieces of lettuce. You can feel the lettuce burst in your mouth with every bite. ALL of the veggies were fresh. I found myself ENJOYING the lettuce. That's just supposed to be the filler in salads, not the main EVENT! The Italian dressing was GREAT, very flavorful and peppery. The spice of the pepperoncinis and the acidity of the vinegar was great contract on my tongue to the saltiness of the sandwich. I love how they compliment each others flavors so well. We also ordered a side of hot wings which were AWESOME. Very tangy wing sauce and the wings were meaty and tender. They weren't dry. My carnal instincts start to take over when I eat wings. I feel myself turning into a ware wolf, and that's how I KNOW it's GOOD. Big E's is awesome. They deliver, and the food is GOOD. Only gripe is that they don't offer WHEAT as an option. YES I know it's not very ITALIAN or whatever, but it COULD make ME frequent their place a little more often than on my BREAK day.

What I know is that Big E does pizza right. One of my students brought a Big E pizza to our class and I learned something. This is the best pizza I have had in a long time. I've had Giordanos shipped to LA from Chicago for parties and Big E has them beat. When guests request pizza, Bruno's of Santa Monica I love and there is a place in Oxnard near the harbor that I love, but I have added Big E to my approval list. If they maintain their commitment to quality they may just become the best pizza in Los Angeles. Try this spot.

At least once a week, I order delivery from Big E's. Their pizza's are better than average and delivery is generally within 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the hour you order delivery. AND best of all, it's worth the wait. In addition to a variety of pizzas, they have pastas, salads, and hot and cold sandwiches. For a good pizza, try their "the works," for sandwiches, try their Italian Combo or "The Beast," and for salads, they serve a pretty mean antipasto salad. They take all major credit cards.

Food hm ok but customer service sucks apples. I suggested friends order from here on a card night and when we ordered the pizza never came. We called after 2 1/2 hrs and customer service was so rude they didnt return my friends money. We ended up going up there just to get the money back on my friends visa. No apology for the mistake no nothing! Horrible, horrible service. not nice women at all! Use your hard earned money somewhere else if your smart!!!

I love this place! My favorite is a large pizza with pepperoni, garlic, fresh tomato and jalapenos. I then remove the jalapeno before I bite into it (all the flavor without the mouth scortching). Ghetto food at it's finest!

  • Jon H.

I always order the "What-a-deal" which is a large one-topping pizza (you can also upgrade to an XL for two dollars more) and a 2-liter of soda (or 2-large cups with refills if you dine in). I always get it with feta cheese, which is amazingly awesome. If you want to get half-and-half toppings on the pizza, there is no extra charge. The pineapple is great too! They even chill their parmesan cheese. :) Everybody I've taken has loved it. The service is great. They show good TV in the dining room and have interesting pictures all over the walls. Their slogan is "almost always open" which means that they close at 1am Sunday-Thursday and 3am Friday and Saturday nights. I love their pizza!

The first time I ordered Big E was ten years ago. I use to order from them regularly because they delivered ribs. I found myself ordering from them a few times a week. Back then, they had chili as an option for pizza topping, and I'd always order that- it was delicious. But then, they stopped, and Big E was never that great again- to me anyway. I moved into a gated complex, and once the delivery guy had to walk about 20 meters to me, and complained that he had to walk, even when I gave him a big tip. After that, I didn't order from then again... until last year. I ordered a personal pizza for pick up- supreme. I paid them, tipped them, then took my pizza home. When I opened the box, there were only olives on my pizza. WTF! I was so angry I wanted to call back and complain, but I was like, 'ughhh f* it' so I tossed the pizza in the trash. I don't know why I didn't order from Valentino's... their place is awesome with friendly service. Last week, we ordered customized pizza, specifying only HALF jalapenos because my mom isn't allowed to have any type of spice due to medical reasons. Well, once the pizza was delivered and we opened the box, the whole pizza was full of jalapenos. When we told them of the mistake, the delivery guy just said "i can't do anything about it" took the money and left. Well EFF him! So we called the shop, and the snobby worker asked, "what do you want us to do about it?" STUPID PEOPLE, I WANT YOU TO FIX IT AND MAKE ME A NEW PIZZA MADE THE WAY I ORDERED IT BECAUSE THIS IS YOUR STUPID MISTAKE!!! But NO, there are NO refunds. Sorry, but their pizza is not worth the hassle, the wait, or the rude service. If it was not for that, they'd probably get three stars, but... Eek! Methinks not!

Oh Big E... you got your sweet sauce all over my face and i loved it! this pizza is awesome! the cheese is so hot and gooey it seems to stretch for a mile! the sauce is perfect, not too sweet not too tart, the toppings are bountiful! the crust is nice and fluffy and chewy... i ate so much i was stufffffed. playing 2 rounds of beer pong after was quite difficult... but i managed. the cheese bread was also effin yumm! though i would skip the buffalo wings, they were on the soggy side... i need to make this clear however... THEY DELIVER BEER! no your eyes do not decieve you, they do indeed deliver beer. although i am not sure if they do after 1... but they also deliver pizza until 3AM friday and saturday. seriously, is there anything else you can ask for???? i didnt think so!

Been a fan of Big E's for years. When we lived downtown we learned about Big E's because they deliver till like 3AM! Now we live down the street in Signal Hill and will often stop in for a pizza. Friendly staff, good pizza.

This was my first time ordering pizza from Big E. I order pizza from a different location every week. I went on to Yelp and read all of the tremendous rave reviews about the pizza here so I decided to try it out. I was informed that it would take a while to receive my pizza and I was fine with that. When I received my pizza it was hot and looked really good however the taste didn't meet my expectations. The pizza was really greasy and lacked flavor it didn't taste like a pizza should. There was so much grease on the pizza box that it ended up staining my place settings on the table I love pizza and I eat a lot of pizza and I was disappointed with the quality. I see there are many fans and a lot of people like this pizza however I did not. I'm not sure something might have happened to my pizza but I will not order from here again.

When I find myself working late at my office, which these days seems quite often, this is my go to place for food delivery. I have tried other places in the neighborhood for food delivery, but nothing thus far beats Big E's! They have a perfect combination of value and fantastic food combined with timely delivery that makes them wonderful for my needs. I am grateful that they allow me to order on line and their delivery charge is $2 or $3 unlike a variety of places in the neighborhood who charge $10 or more for delivery. Their personal size pizza's are delicious by the way. Tonight though I am trying their BBQ Chicken which I know will be delicious. Thank you for feeding a hungry hard working entrepreneur!

So my boyfriend and I stopped here to grab a quick bite the reviews on yelp seemed promising as we are aways trying new places We order service was great , servers where nice . The place itself was nice , presentation as far as how the food is served the eating area it self and even the bathrooms are great and cozy . The first thing that came through where the wings . They where okay dipping sauces where not that bad . Pizza came around (pepperoni) and it was served nice and hot cheese melting it was a freakin sight But then the disappointment came. Pizza - rubbery cheese - tasteless marinara on the pizza - pepperoni had no flavor The best thing about our order was the drinks and the wings which where just okay. If the owner where to make some changes to the ingedients is come back but til then we won't be stopping by again. Again great service though

Not bad - the crust was really good and they were very very generous with the toppings. I had my pizza delivered and it was kinda hot when it got here. The garlic bread was ok - my high expectations based on other reviews were somewhat dashed. However, the pizza made up for it in spades. Just a quick side note: the pizza was even good the next day!!!

  • Andrew R.

It saddens me to give this restaurant only two stars because the food was actually very good. The reason it got this rating was because it took over an hour and 15 minutes for delivery. I ordered off of eat 24 app and was specific in my cheese steak pizza requesting no peppers however I received the pizza with a lot of green peppers. Also I ordered a side salad and requested blue cheese dressing and received like a Caesar Italian mix not really sure what kind of dressing it is but definitely not blue cheese. I may give this place another chance only because the food was hot and the pizza was good minus having to pick off the green peppers

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ordered delivery from Big E's as recommended by the Westin hotel I am staying at. All I wanted was a bottle of wine & cheesecake after a long day at work but the hotel bar I was staying at was closed (11pm on a Friday AH) so I placed an order for a bottle of wine and food and asked for them to bring a cork screw at 11:10 pm. At 12:10pm the delivery guy arrived with my food and cork screw but no bottle of wine. He told me he forgot it and admitted he was confused why I wanted the cork screw (at this point I am just worried how this guy has made it this far in life) and he tells me he will go to the nearest liquor store to get me said bottle of wine which I have already paid 15$ for. As sketchy as this seems I agree and tip him normally. I then call the restaurant to speak with the manager and let him know what was going on. Any respectable establishment would be apologetic and offer a refund for the forgotten item but the gentleman I spoke to was rude and accusatory saying " well he is going to get the bottle for you right?" AH! And then when he finally returned with my bottle of very very warm red wine he had the audacity to ask me to tip him extra for the difference of the wine that he claimed he overpaid for. I then asked if he had the receipt for the supposedly 40$ bottle of wine which conveniently he did not have. At this point I am wondering if this is a normal practice of the restaurant in order to solicit bigger tips/ rip people off because it makes absolutely no sense to go to a liquor store and buy a 40$ bottle of wine when I only paid 15$...In the end I got my bottle of wine but this was literally the worst overall experience I have ever had... DO NOT give this sketchy establishment your business

Ordered one of their deals that included large pizza, wings and two sodas. Pizza arrived in an hour but they forgot the sodas. I called big e pizza to let them know they made a mistake. The manager? Rosie? Was super helpful, professional and pleasant, she even called grub hub to get my money refunded for the sodas because they were super busy and she didn't want me to have to wait a long time for the delivery guy to come back with my drinks. The pizza and wings were pretty good and it was all decently priced. I would definitely order from this establishment again.

Big E's is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat in Long Beach! I love the fact that they extended their place it's much more spacy and the decor is great. Not too much not to shabby. The food. Everything on the menu hits.. I recommend the ravioli cheese! Slight detail is the waiting time for take out, took a bit longer than expected but hey when aren't you willing to wait when the food is THAT GOOD!?

The best part about this place is that they have late night delivery! There's only a handful of places that's open late and delivers near work. Three and a half stars! Their antipasto salad's pretty light and delicious. I had the meatball sandwich that was also delicious, although Rocco's still my favorite when it comes to meatballs. My coworkers enjoyed the pastrami sandwich and Italian Calzone. Boy, the Calzone was GINORMOUS!! Even for a big guy over six feet tall. He was only able to eat half of it! Thanks Big E Pizza for staying open late with late night deliveries!!

Terrific calzone and pasta delivered at 11 at night with a six pack of beer is unique. As a first time customer visiting from out of town, this place pleasantly surprised. The children enjoyed pasta with the mozzarella melted on top and sauce on the side. The calzone was amazing with a great crust and plentiful fillings. Even the Caesar dressing for the side salads was excellent. I want to come here for pizza the next time that I visit Long Beach.

Cute small restaurant and great delivery service for the past 2 years. I end up getting their pastas and salads more than anything and they always provide quality food. Their sauce for the spaghetti is good and their meat in the spaghetti is really yummy and big. My roommates love their garlic bread and always end up eating mine, so I always remember to order extra now ^^

BIG E! Nothing like a late night pizza delivered at 2:30 am after a night of drinking. Their delivery until 3 is a godsend. And the pizza is pretty good as well. My personal favorite is Italian sausage and green pepper, but just about anything you get is gunna be great. The prices are pretty good too and they usually include discount coupons in the weekly ad mailer.

Generic Italian restaurant. Pizza isn't the best and can get a bit sloppy. The pasta is my favorite to order here, however it's not that great. I will admit there is decent service, but some of the workers can have an attitude at night.

Great food no doubt... But people that work there not too much. The females don't know how to greet and smile at people. I order a sandwich and the lady that took my order said it'll take 20 mins. In my head I'm thinking 20 mins for a sandwich?! Then I saw how busy they are. So it was cool, I can wait 20 mins. However it took them 40 mins to give me my sandwich. I know I should of got up and ask but i'm sitting at the front of the cashier and she see me waiting... If you know a customer is been waiting there for while, as a server or waiter wouldn't you ask a customer about their order? Very poor on serving. And I'm very disappointed.

Decided to give Big E's another try. Came here a couple nights ago with some of my girlfriends at a pretty reasonable hour (9pm) so I was hoping to catch some better service than I had experienced last time. All in all, the food was good, I was able to try a few more dishes and it was a better experience. However I've got to say, the service here still is at an all time low. Three different ladies helped us throughout our entire order and was constantly interrupted by one thing after another, another lady would have to come to the register to complete our order as we stood there confused. For a group of customers that paid over 60$ altogether on dinner. I think we should've been able to receive better acknowledgement...

My favorite pizza spot here in socal. The only thing I dont like is when I order wings there sauce comes on the side. But thats just me being picky lol. But still one of my faves. Love the new extensions to the restaurant

My fav pizza spot...love everything here!!! We moved out of the LBC a few years ago and have no problem driving 15/20 mins to pick up some Big E!!! Manager's special never fails to satisfy my hungry fam bam. Try the antipasto salad it's yummy and the sandwiches hot or cold. My 17 yr old must have the chicken fettuccine...they let us substitute it with the special instead of the spaghetti and meat balls. I think there may be a small fee for the chicken...not sure! Chicken wings are good but never seem to have enough sauce for me so we always get more on the side. Eat here u won't regret it!!!

I went a little overboard and ordered a bit too much for delivery. But here are the items I tried! 1. Calzone: as a calzone should be. It's pretty monstrous in size and I can't complain. 2. Cinnamon squares: the sugar ends up melting if you don't eat it right away so I was a little bummed about that. 3. Spaghetti: it was a little more on the bland side. 4. Cheesy bread: again, you have to eat this right away or else the cheese hardens I'm still giving them a rightfully earned 5 stars since I know they aren't at fault for the actual time it takes for the food to get to my door and how long it takes me to eat! I'm thankful for their portions though. They aren't stingy for sure!

Loved the hours. Great for a late night bite. Dined in and tried the chicken fettuccini and was thoroughly impressed- flavorful without being overly salty like some places cheaply try to do. Chicken and cheese has nice roast on top. I could tell it wasn't zapped in the microwave and brought out to us. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was the average service. Ordered, they brought out the food, the end.

I have been eating at this place for so many years. It is absolutely the best pizza place I've ever had the pleasure to come across . I m so thankful I used to live right around the corner , and found it so many years ago . It is me and my sisters favorite spot and we make it a point to visit regularly. Just to rate how important and great this place is to us. My sister literally just switched to a vegetarian lifestyle, but she cannot resist having the BIG Es deluxe every now and then . That's EXACTLY how good it is . I hope they never decide to change the recipe , or God forbid close . That will literally be the worst day of my life and I'll probably give up on pizza forever .

WTH they can't do 1/3 pizzas. Sorry you lost my business. It should be one star but I love Big Es.. can't hate Sorry they couldn't accommodate me .

Big E's gets a 5-star from me for the following reasons: 1.) They're the only pizza place open super late night in Long Beach with delivery service, 2.) They have really good pizza & sandwiches, and 3.) Their delivery service is fast & friendly! For these reasons Big E's will continue to gain my repeat business in the years to come.

  • Yesenia M.

Delicious, fresh, and authentic. I didn't expect much because my 11 year old recommended this place but man I do not regret it. We ordered a medium pepperoni & jalapeño pizza and garlic bread. My only complaint is our pizza was delivered an hour after our order time but it was good so it made up for it.

Called. For a delivery and the food came in cold the wings were not fully cooked. Worse experience

  • Llari D.

Meh. I've experienced better. Maybe all the people that give this place five stars haven't ordered sober since this place stays open late. If you're a fan of Pizza Hut I'm almost sure you won't like this place. I ordered a small Hawaiian Pizza with a side of ranch. I opened the box and I saw huge slices of Canadian bacon, they weren't cut, maybe that's their thing idk. The cheese wasn't cheesy, it was a tough kind of chewy and stretchy cheese. I could tell the pineapples probably came from a can. The sauce was OK at best. The wait time and customer service was good. I picked up my order since I only work a block away therefore, it was also convenient. So two stars, one for customer service, half for the ranch (which is supposedly house made) and, the other half for convenience. It's also pretty pricey!!! I was hoping for better.

I ordered from the restaurant around 12:30pm after getting home from work. My order took over a hour and a half to get to my house and when it did arrive it was cold. The chicken Parmesan was good (for being cold) but the cinnamon sticks were gross and barely had cinnamon on them. I was very disappointed.

This place is a fuckin Jocke sorry for the language we had order pizza like 2 or 3 months ago we pick up the order and they gave us a cold pizza with frozen wing we went to the store talk to the owner n it was no help they told us that the next order was on them we call today 5-30-2015 n they never found our number and it embarrassing for them since we talk to the owner I will never order from this place is the worst

When you're craving for pizza late at night but does not want to pick it up because you're lazy, then Big E Pizza is for you! They do delivery and all that shenanigans (pricey though). They offer great deals and promotions that are great for big events. I would suggest call ahead and order or get it delivered because the wait here is insane. But yeah, besides that, this place is awesome. Big E Pizza have a wide variety of menu but I love love love their Southwest Pizza (cheese, chicken, sweet onions and BBQ sauce) The place seems compact, only offer one big table right in the middle and few two chairs with tables on the corners. But I did like their decors and its atmosphere: has a gangster themed set-up with full of posters and movie knick-knacks. Overall, Big E Pizza serves delicious pizzas and other stuff so give it a try!

  • Cristina R.

So since the Big E expanded in size the service and restrictions are so ridiculous. So I was so excited when I saw there was more space to eat in and after I ate in about 5 times, I noticed that the service was better before. So they take your order, bring it out but never ask if you need anything else or go table touching to see if anybody needs a refill, the bill, etc. the employees just stand around by the counters talking to each other (really when half the tables need stuff). Then they only bring half of the order out and never bring the other half unless its brought to their attention but since their busy talking it takes like an hour to get their attention. So since they are so unprofessional I decide to order on the phone and for dine in and they say I can't do that but I've always been able too (those employees and there nonsense). I am standing at the counter and the girl has the nerve to tell me have a seat like girl the right thing to say is did you need anything you should try reading the book customer service for dummies(better said for idiots). i work customer service and I know what is expected and these employees aren't even halfway there. Also the way they take orders is non sense they cut you off and say thats it and then I am like no I get one more thing out and thats it like the right things to say are would you like anything else with your order, or suggest some items would you like to add some drinks, any salads, etc. their job is so easy and they still seem to mess it up. Where is the manager at??? Where is the owner??? Are they even aware of what is going on?? The only reason I keep going back is because food is great the food gets 5 stars but everything else gets like half a star!!! But if it keeps going that way I will find a place that is worth spending my money at!!!

  • Muneer A.

What a disaster? I just made an order online and it was my first order. The food is badly seasoned! Some were under seasoned, while others were over seasoned. I order a couple of pasta dishes and all I could really advice you is stay away from the lasagna !!! The worst lasagna I've tasted! The pizza was average, the sauce wasn't added to the crust properly. 2 stars because of the badly cheesy lasagna. Without it, I'd give it a weak 3 star review

    (2)
  • Seb A.

never disappointed! they're pizza, wings, and desserts are where its at. the sammies are good and the pasta and lasagna alright, but what you doin' gettin pasta at a pizza joint! late night delivery always appreciated for the night shift crowd (industry people).

This is a small hole in the wall place, these usually turn out to be the best places. It's very small inside but they have tables and chairs and a very authentic decor, I liked the ambience.I ordered 6 buffalo wings and my bf had the lasagana. The wings were def a disappointment.they tasted like the wings that come in a frozen bag with some red hot sauce added. Also my wings were cold :( They were not bad, but I would not order that again.the lasagna I must say was pretty good even though my boyfriend did not like it.Next time I will try the pizza and only the pizza, as we waited for our food we saw the pizza which looked really good.

1st time here was tonight. Ordered a simple personal pizza with black olives and "garlic cheese bread." Which costs extra. Waited for 20 minutes which I don't mind as long as the food is correct and good. Get home and start doing a couple of things because I'm the type of person who doesn't eat right away. So later I get ready to eat and low and behold regular garlic bread no cheese which I paid for. At least they got the pizza correct. No point in calling who wants to go all the way back after I already got comfortable...irks me really bad!....CHECK YOUR FOOD B4 YOU LEAVE!!

Pretty darn good pizza. They have great pick up deals too. The pizza is the perfect amount of greasy, cheesy, saucy. It's really just great. Usually took about 20 minutes from ordering for it to be ready.

It's ridiculous how good their pizza is. N their chicken Alfredo? Omg. If this place ever left long beach, I'd be heartbroken! Their drivers are always so nice! Love love love them and their cheeeeeeesy food! :)

If you order big pizza it looks like a medium pizza...very inconsistent delivery and customer service...I ordered a day before and I had good service but then the following day the lady just blatantly said, "we don't deliver there" I just ordered the day before! I am not from around here so this would be a pizza joint that I wouldn't recommend... For the pizza, it's okay and not so spectacular for a local pizza...I like supporting local business but I wouldn't recommend anything that subpar...

Big E's is my favorite pizza in Long Beach. They have a great lunch special for about $7, and the staff is always extremely friendly. I have never tried anything other than the pizza, but everything I've seen has looked great. Definitely give it a try.

It's midnight thirty on Halloween night, which falls on a Friday. You are at a friend's house drinking beer and watching Club Dread and everybody is a little hungry. Up until this moment I would have thought you would be screwed at a time like this, but then you put the word out that you need delivery and two friends hit you back with "Big E". I call and talk to, possibly Big E himself, and I ask what time they are open. "3 AM". Wow. DO they deliver to Broadway and Cherry? "Of Course" A medium cheese pizza is ordered, and there is some confusion about price. Somebody seems to think it was quoted at 25 dollars. That can't be right. It wasn't. When the Big E representative showed up it cost a measly 12 dollars. So far, we think we might have a new lifestyle of late night dining upon us. But then we eat the pie. Well, most of it. Doughy, soggy, bready crust with chewy cheese on it. It might be the worst pizza (This does not include Pizza Hut, Pappa John's or Dominos Pizza, which exist in the BARELY FOOD category) that I can remember. Wait, no Paoli's Pizza on Broadway was worse. The point is, this was really awful pizza. The only way it could have been worse was if the sauce had been overly sweet. The upside, if you are starving and drunk late at night, Big E will come save you. They also have sandwiches and stuff that isn't pizza, so more late night drunken research is required. Oh and there is a rumor that they will deliver beer to you.

I've heard people say "Big E's is good when you're hammered and desperate late at night." I've also heard people say, "Amsterdam is a great place to go to party." Yeah, both are true, but there's so much more and if that's your attitude about the 2 quotes, you are missing out. Their pizza is bomb and the fact that there is an option to have beer and or wine delivered to your humble abode at the wee hours of the morning, i got another quote that i hear southern people say "sheee-it!" The beer is a bit expensive, but hey, they still deliver beer to your house.

late night/early morning pizza delivery!? who would have thought?? in LOVE! 2 medium 2 topping special always hits the spot. but warning: don't order extra cheese, their pizzas are already super cheesy. don't forget to order a side of ranch, it is thick and creamy here. after writing this review.. my mouth is watering just thinking of their pizza. guess what i'm having for dinner?! BIG E's!

  • Heath R.

Interesting that I had such a drastically different experience with Big E. True, they play up the whole "We're an Italian restaurant" with their wall of decoration -- mostly 8-by-10 glossies of actors from mobster movies, and I can't speak to the quality of their menu beyond the pizza we had Saturday night, but on the whole, I was quite impressed. Via Italia on the PCH in Long Beach doesn't sell cheese pizza by the slice -- just pepperoni -- and offers no table seating. So my son and I made our way to Big E. The counter staff was extremely friendly, we ordered a medium cheese pizza and a Coke, and that was that. When our pizza made it to our table, it was hot, fresh, and delicious. The cheese was practically perfect, the sauce tasty and slightly tangy, and the crust just that side of too doughy for my tastes. That's the only ding I'd give them -- average, airy crust. Otherwise, it was a fine pizza. If you only eat an eatery's pizza after you've been drinking all day or in the wee hours of the morning, your mileage may vary. But sober and at dinner time, Big E's was great. They were also doing brisk business: a family of three, a young couple, a security guy, and two teenage boys. Seems to do brisk business.

Big E!! My Motha F#*@!n Man!!! Nice work Pizano! This is the good stuff !! I ate a whole large pizza by my self. Not because the pizza was small... No this was a good size pie. It was because the pizza was so good that I could not stop eating it... Now I want to hang myself... Blahh....

Good pizza, good pasta. The portions are very large - I'm usually able to make one spaghetti & meatball dinner last for 3 meals. Delivery charge is way too high at $3 so pick it up yourself if you can.

Very good Deluxe pizza with very generous toppings. They got a star for every paper plate that they soaked through (3) + another star for the great toppings and taste and fresh crust. Not great service (alas the last star fell). Good value.

We were wanting some good pizza and I remembered my hairstylist suggested here so we took the drive over, which was worth it. Ordered a large pizza, Alfredo and a small pizza for three of us. Pizza had lots of dough and the Alfredo was baked and yumm. I wish I was closer for delivery.

Big E's makes a good pizza for a good price, and I also like the antipasti salad, hot wings, and beef ribs. Delivery can be a bit slow, but they are very prompt for pick up orders.

I've only had them deliver once and, yes it was late ; remembering a co-worker told me they are open until 3 AM I let my fingers do the walking. My pizza was great, saved me from the Kush Munchies form hell! I'm not a big pizza fan but, when I want it I want it! This place will get the next call when I'm craving like a pregnant women with twins!

I wanted to Love you believe me. There are few restaurants that carry the menu that you offer so I was very excited when I received it in my mailbox. I ordered the Full Rack of Ribs and fixins' for my boyfriend and I ordered the Spaghetti Grotto for myself. The young woman taking the order didn't know the menu very well but we got through it. The delivery was on time and he was very pleasant . Now to the grub.......hmmm and that is the best word I could come up with. I put the food out for the honey and grabbed one of his ribs and I proceeded to try and eat it but not with much luck. It was extremely tough but the sauce was very good. My spaghetti was topped with cheese and just under that was a layer of dried out burned hamburger meat followed by dry noodles. The garlic bread wasn't toasted and I had to cook it for a few minutes to get it browned. I don't like to criticize but it has to be eatable correct? With all of that said I will possibly give them one more chance once I get this bad taste out of my mouth. Sorry in Long Beach

The pizza here is delicious. Hasn't been a miss yet. Slightly greasy, but what pizza isn't? It's just delicious and yummy I would travel a distance to get pizza here, even though there's other numerous local pizza joints nearby me. The minute this place drops in taste, I will let you yelpers know. Peace!

Why don't other delivery places take note of Big E's winning formula of good food and staying open super late for us drunks?! Seriously, the money places could make would be amazing! I'm actually a fan of this place when I'm not inebriated as well. Their pizza quite good (sometimes a little greasy) and their subs are also quite tasty. Although the bread they use for their subs tend to be too much...bread that is...too much of it... The salads (I usually get the Chef Salad) is really big and filling. I don't usually get the pasta but my girlfriend says it's just "OK". Plus they deliver alcohol...very nice! Big E Pizza...there for us Long Beach drunks!!!

Delivery, Delivery, Delivery! Had Big E's Delivered last night. Awesome as usually! The meat lovers is the best! They are not shady about the amount of meat they use. Great when you're hungry, even better when you're buzzed. Delivery may take a bit, usually 45min to an hour. I've ordered from other places and no one can match the taste and quality. I also recommend the BBQ Chicken Hawaiian Pizza, I was hesitant at first, but their BBQ sauce is the best, not too sweet.

MY FAVORITE! I love how they open til [somewhat] late. Staff are extremely nice. Very good pizza, like Tonya W. said, they are consistent. Prices are decent. I think you should try the ribs, I LOVE the ribs. I usually order only pizza and ribs [I share with my boyfriend] I don't think I've tried the pasta or sandwiches yet.. The ribs menu is kind of confusing haha there are 3 "Ribs only" choices but s'all good! [just a random thought, though it doesn't really have much relevance to a review] waiter service: you order your food but if you eat in, they will put your food on the table so it's "semi- waiter service" great for groups? : yes for the food, no for the space.. it's a small area, it's going to be kinda hard to fit so many people in there, I recommend you eat else where outdoor seating: haha they do have it, like two tables to fit 2 persons so I say yes they have it but it's not that great "OH OUTDOOR SEATING!" no.. great place, don't be afraid to try another pizza place [[: pizza hut and dominos are so over-rated oh ps, if you decide to eat it.. run over to the fake 7-11 next door for a drink, save you some dollars.. or buy a fountain drink, it's free refill.. --and don't be afraid to call for delivery, i don't know if there's a fee but they don't have much of a limit to where they deliver [[: please do not try to call for deliver if you are out of the the state.. it won't come.. thanks

Hey for delivery during busy "I cant leave the office" or the "I'm too lazy to leave the office" but I'm starving... Office buddies and I tried the pizza on one occasion - 16" with Canadian bacon and pineapple on 1/2 and the other 1/2 with Pineapple - (for moi) and the entire pie adorned with Jalapenos. It was quite tasty. The crust was nice and tender with that thin crunchy to it. Not bad flavor to the pasta either -On a separate occasion, I did order the fettuccine Alfredo (on another occasion) and garlic cheese bread. It was quite a bit of pasta in a foil type tray - top of the pasta was an inch of mozzerella browned and crisped (nice). slightly salty side with all that cheese - the garlic cheese bread probably does better when ordered in the restaurant - maybe next time I will go with the Garlic Bread Sticks. Hey, it was delivered, delivered on time to my office and delivered free. No complaints and I will order from Big E's again. No beer was abused in the consumption of the food here nor any alcoholic beverage delivered with my order. *wink*wink*

What can I say this place is bad@$$! They cater to the college community and most importantly they are open and deliver until 3AM. That is the best thing I've hear of since sliced bread. Not that I was born when the bread wasnt sliced but that is besides the point. Anyway, good pizza, good specials and reasonable prices. Awesome stuff . Check it out

I gave this place a shot after they left a menu at my job. I checked yelp saw the reviews minus a few cry babies about time frames etc. I guess people don't realize sometimes places get busy... I must agree with most that the pizza was excellent! I also had their wings and as I expected wasn't thrilled about them. I would stick to cirivellos for wings in that area. I would really recommend this place for pizza though. Didn't try anything else. The delivery did take long but they did let me know.

When speaking to them over the phone to take an order, they did not take us seriously and thus did not place our order, and then proceeded to tell us it would take one hour to arrive. We watied one hour and then nothing happened. We called them, starving, and explained our situation, and then they hung up on us after making luckluster excuses. They do have good food, but they need to work on customer service.

My bro as a bad habit; Big E Pizza; late at night. Coming home from a 2 1/2hr workout at the gym at 10pm; only to find a large pizza and a liter of coke. How dare he temp me; i sooo hungry and it looks sooo good..I had one slice; I SWEAR to you and a sip of coke..it convince since you can order and pick-up and the theme of the place is Scarface/mafia; love it.. The service is good and it open later then most pizza joints; so no complains.

Needed a last minute big plate of spaghetti for 12 people for dinner on a Sunday. Our local place wanted 48 hours notice. Big E said "no problem!" They wouldn't deliver to my neighborhood (Bixby Knolls) but they did make some very good spaghetti. Love it when cheese is melted on the top. Not the best I ever had, but it certainly did in a pinch.

I've ordered from here on several occasions, personal and for my employees. We've all been pretty satisfied with the quick service and the food is pretty good. I normally order the veg combo pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs with mushrooms. We've never ate at the location so I can't say how the service is there but over the phone they've always been great! Reminds me of pizza I use to have on the way home from school when I was in high school. :)

I LOVE BIG E's. Big E's was my first love when I moved to Long Beach. The pizzas are big, tasty, and filling. I've recommended it to all of my friends and they've all become addicted. If you like pizza thats not too thick, not too thin-- this is the place. They pile on the cheese, seriously, don't ever underestimate the cheese you will get. This goes hand and hand with it's only downside, this bastard gets greasy. You can tell when I have eaten Big E's because you will see a pimple on both sides of my mouth where the pizza had touched haha. I can sacrifice for the good of my stomach. Pick up specials are damn good, so don't be lazy. They are open late for those 1-2 am pizza cravings. Really, the only negative thing I can say is that their Alfredo pasta is bad...it's just noodles under thick cheese. It's not even sauce in my opinion, but maybe it's supposed to be that way.

went here last night to grab a bite to eat with a friend who had been fiending for a good slice all week so we went to Big E. dining room is fairly small with about three or four small tables and one large table in the middle. we got the medium 8 slice 2 topping pizza with pepperoni and italian sausage which came out to be about ~9.50 or so, VERY cheap. pizza was delicious and well worth the price. only reason it gets 4/5 stars is because the wait time was long but besides that Big E was a great place to go for a slice !

  • Andrew E.

Big E's is a great secret spot for a few reasons: 1. They deliver until 3AM 2. They deliver beer. 3. The spaghetti and meatballs are great, and come with garlic bread and a side salad for about 8 bucks. 4. If you order pick-up, or dine in, the decor is basically a bunch of pictures from all your favorite mobster-related movies and TV shows. Soprano's, Goodfellas, The Godfather, Casino, Donnie Brasco, etc. 5. Decent-to-Good Pizza. 6. Great prices and friendly people. What else could you really ask for?

Double Trouble... I have been a customer for about six years, great hot pie when you need it!

Great deals! The pizza and wings are really good. The pizza is thick, saucey and super cheesy, yes a heart attack waiting to happen, but it totally makes it worth it. I get full off of two slices, although I wish I could fit more. Just recently moved back into long beach and it was my first meal.

I give them 5 stars because of the pizza bread/crust. Most pizza bread/crust are chewy but they are soft. Not like others I have tried before. Give them a try. 10-15 min wait.

Had the wings and pasta this time. I did not care for the pasta sause b/c is had to much chopped tomatos and onions for my taste. The wings are great for being baked.

The only place that delivers til 3 am. They will also deliver beer in the form of 6-packs. When you've been out all night having drinks and you need to eat and you can't drive, they are the best option. I've only had their Pepperoni and Hawaiian Pizza's. Which, are awesome after a bunch of beers. This pizza is more of a late-night thing when you can't drive. I highly suggest this place when coming home from the bar in a cab. Call them when you're on your way back home cuz it takes about 45 minutes to get to you, the more you order the quicker it gets to you. :) Plus, huge tips for the driver helps too.

yeah, it's on a shitty stretch of PCH, and I hate driving to it from my place, but the pizza ain't bad and the takeout specials are always worth it. ask for the takeout specials and coupons, that's what makes Big E worth it. I don't think I'll ever try anything else on the menu but when you need a cheap pizza...not a bad spot. plus the hours are great for the late-night fix.

Ordered this tonight. Delivery time was okay, and we used a coupon we got in the mail for 2 medium pizzas for $17. Not a bad deal. The cheese was good, salty and stringy, toppings generous (we got ham and pineapple), but I didn't really like the crust. It was completely tasteless. A good crust would make this pizza way better. My partner agreed on my opinion of "meh." I think this pizza would probably be the best thing EVER on a drunken night though! I don't think I'd order again unless I was jonesing for some pizza at 1am on a drunken night....which I'm sure I will be soon enough! And they deliver beer! A young adult in LB's dream. 2 stars for the pizza, one more for their hours and beer delivery.

The other day, I ordered a pizza and a lasagna with the salad and breadsticks for a easy family dinner. They said it was about an hour wait, I said fine cuz I still had to drive home and figured I could clean up and get ready for dinner. 2 hours later I call to check on the order. They said it was delivered already. Um... No, it wasn't. They ended up sending out another order. When they got to my appartments they didn't want to be buzzed up, I had to go down and get it. Fine, It's food, it's here. While eating, we noticed that the sauce wasn't the best... and the lasagna was... well, let's just call it interesting. I probably won't ever order from here again, but it definitely helped me appreciate other places.

I was looking for Big E's phone number today, this was the first site that came up so I clicked on it and what do I see.....like 4 people I knows faces. That's weird, I then decided to make a profile because I like to give my opinion so here goes. Big E's pizza is really good the prices are great and the portions leave you more than full. The one bad thing about Big E's pizza is that they use a cheese that turns into concrete about an hour after being in your stomach. The result of which can be numerous outcomes from just being lethargic to being seriously ill. I do recommend it but it's not for every day use or pregnant people.

OMG!! I am not much of a pizza eater, but I am telling you they have the best pizza here. I always order for pick up, because their delivery service takes forever. I usually order the small pizza with Green bell peppers, sausage, and mushrooms. OMG and if you still have an appetite you would have to try their hot wings. I get half a dozen of those babies and I am set. The garlic bread is not so bad either. I usually ask for extra hot sauce on the side along with my ranch. So delicious. This is yummy food. The cheesecake is pricey, but is actually pretty good. (=

Hands down - 2:00 a.m. pizza doesn't get any better than this. You can sit here at a little bistro table and watch movies like "Gone in 60 Seconds" and feel like they are the most brilliant pieces of filmmaking ever. This part of PCH is pretty quiet at night. But the lights here at Big E are lit up like the Vegas strip. Definitely not the type of place where you save the pizza and it's better the next day. The only way to enjoy Big E pizza is hot and fresh. They have pictures of goombahs all over the joint. So cheesy, just like their pizza and tv movies.

I have no idea what everyone else here is talking about. I freakin' love this pizza. It gets the job done and that's all that matters.. Then again, I'm one of those people who generally believes that there is no such thing as bad pizza. I've only encountered terrible pizza once and it was from some place that delivers until 3 am in San Francisco. It was VERY rubbery and the cheese was awful. But other than that, I'll pretty much eat anything that's covered in sauce, cheese, and grease. Mmmm, grease.

  • andrya h.

I've only eaten this pizza after the hours of 2 am....Im told that Im eating it because they are the only place the delivers at that time....For that alone, they get 3 stars.....I've been told the pizza sucks, but when Im already 6-7 cocktails deep, while still trying to slam down the 40 I had to run to get before closing time, Im pretty damn satisfied.... Suggestion: Only Eat Big-E's when wasted, and options are limited...I promise you will be more satisfied... Craving Pizza sober, during regular business hours? Try Canadian Pizza on 4th street and stop complaining. It is what it is.

The pictures don't give Big E's justice. I have yet to find a better tasting pizza than that of senor Big E! I tend to always go against the tide, hell I'll root for whoever else the Lakers are playing just cuz i hate the band wagon (don't throw rocks at me) so when all my friends were telling me of how great it was I was a bit skeptic, BUT it is delish!!! The personal Hawaiian is the bees knees! You gotta have the side o' ranch! Great pizza, open late you cant go wrong. Definitely the place to go if you got the beer munchies late at night, Big E's saved my life countless times.

I hate writing bad reviews about any small business, however, I have finally had my limit with this place. I as well as my boyfriend have been long time customers and have even given big e more business by reccomending this pizza to our family members (who order all the time). Tonight, my boyfriend ordered a pizza and phoned ahead. They told us over the phone, that it would only take 20 minutes. 55 minutes later, my boyfriend was still waiting for our pizza. While he was waiting, he witnessed three people who came in and ordered, and left with food before he did. There were also three workers who sat down to eat a pizza and stuffed thier faces, while he was still waiting for our food. He finally got fed up with waiting and inquired about his food, and to his surprise, the girl walks over and gets a pizza with wings that had been sitting there for 20 minutes. The food was cold, disgusting, and extra greasy. I called and spoke to the manager on duty, and all he offered was 50% off the next pizza we order and a $5 refund on our credit card. First of all, Why would I ever go back after such a horrible customer service experience???? This was not the first time we've had cold pizza from big E. I told the manager that a full refund would set things right, and this was the best he did. Big E...You just lost a long time customer, as well as all my family members who buy from your business. If you want better pizza with excellent customer service, go to Buonos Pizza. I will make sure to tell anyone considering ordering a pizza from this joke of a business, to buy Buonos instead. :)

I've never had pizza from this place, but the sub sandwiches are pretty darn good. Then again, the only time I ever get Big E's is usually around between 1am and 3am. Only place I know that delivers that late. It's become a staple with my friends and I. When you shouldn't be driving and your super hungry...grab some Big E's. I hear they deliver beer...but I'm not looking for that around that time. This place rocks!

  • Edgar M.

Omg the pizza us the best in long beach everyone should try their CALZONE it's the best I ever tasted the ribs are great for a very low prize it's a must to eat at this place if u are in long beach.

  • Rick L.

Big E's is a safe place to get good pizza late at night. I'd advise you to watch your bill since this place is notorious for putting in little charges (delivery, credit, etc.) that will inflate your check. Beer is super expensive if it's delivered but it's better than driving drunk.

    (3)
  • Angie M.

I wish I could give 2 and 1/2 stars. It is hit or miss with them. Sometimes the pizza is great other times it is under cooked. Kinda taking your chances when you order. I do like their wings though.

    (3)
  • Tina D.

Big E is scrumdiddlyumtious. I've had their pizza drunk & sober, and also even eaten in there before. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? okay, for those who don't know, there are like, three tables inside where you can also order a meal of pasta and salad with a glass of bad wine. yeah, it's literally and metaphorically cheesy, but it's good! I think their pizza is really good, with lots of good ingredients and totally greasy and cheesy goodness. no seriously. and i had their baked penne pasta with salad and a glass of wine, YUM! i think the best part of Big E's is that they're open late. i believe they deliver until 3am and you can "get fancy" and eat in as well. unfortunately, i star less because i've never seen the Green Mile and it was on their TV when i was there and only saw the ending. WAY TO RUIN IT FOR ME, BIG E! (jk about the -1 star for ruining the Green Mile. although i haven't seen the movie, and the ending IS ruined for me, i gave it four stars because it's greasy. but isn't that what pizza is supposed to be?)

  • Ralph D.

The pizza here is awesome!!!!!! I've eaten here quite a few times and it's never let me down. If you are looking for some great tasting pizza at a reasonable pirce order here, AND if you're too drunk to drive to go pick it up, just have it delivered!!!!

Good consistant pizza and love their salads they've always been really fresh. I've never tried anything else from here but if you go with pizza and salad you'll be happy and full. Delivery guys are always nice and they don't take forever.

  • Reyna V.

Big E's is a great "Hey we are really drunk and need food at 2am!! and more beer!!! " Pizza is way good when eaten while intoxicated. Their chicken wings are too fatty and gross.. not a fan. I happen to like the chicken Alfredo pasta... Their sandwiches are what I go back for. I love the Italian Combo! The spaghetti's are really good too, all the pastas come with bread and iceberg salad. So, if you're hungry and it's after 11 when other places close, call Big E's...

    (4)
  • Nicole O.

Not the best pizza I've ever had before, but it is the best pizza in Long Beach, and the best pizza you can oder while stumbling home drunk from the bar. The delivery tends to take awhile (at least an hour if you're ordering anywhere near 2am on Friday or Saturday) but it's well worth the wait! I've never actually been in the place because I'm afraid it might ruin it for me. They get 4 stars for being open LATE and delivering to drunks every night of the week.

This is for the Chicagoans or those searching for Chicago pizzza in LA. 1 - they advertise chicago style pizza ( for sake of my criticism). As a pizza, its a run of the mill pizza, edible but nothing worth an real effort. But in terms of Chicago style - well.. it simply has nothing to do with Chicago Style pizza, which does bother me when they advertise it as such.

3AM Pizza, that's what we call it. In Signal Hill, there isn't much in the way of late-night dining options unless you're a Del Taco or Jack-in-the-Box junkie. It's ALL about Big E's! And it's got to be the safest place for some late night dining too. There's always cops eating there when we've run in for pizza at some god forsaken hour (12am-3am). That's right people, you can DINE-IN in the middle of the weekend night. I was on a first-named basis with them for a while. Thankfully, my pizza addiction has chilled out, but when I want a calzone or pizza, I give 'em a ring. Yeah, their number is saved in my cell phone. I usually order take-out because when I want Big E's, I want it right now! It'll take you a few minutes to get rung up at the counter because they are busy taking orders and more orders on the phone. Never fails when I walk in, there's somebody seated eating something that looks delicious, but I never make it past my calzone or pizza to try something else. Yeah, the pizza may be a little on the greasy side, but that's cuz it's sooooo cheesy. This is the kind of place where you're lucky if there's a slice left because people tend to keep eating it, even when they're full! Enjoy!

  • Inez C.

A true Long Beach/Signal Hill resident must know and have Big E Pizza on hand!! Not only are their pizza's and deli sandwiches AWESOME but they deliver up to 3am which is an added plus in my book. Pick up the phone, order, and ENJOY!!

Another late night spot to get some grub in LB. I've never had it delivered, I think I live outside their delivery zone - but I give props for having the options, especially deliveries of brew, although that wouldn't help me out even if I did live close. I keeps at least a 12 in the fridge at ALL times. Anyway, this place is decent. I'm from NY and never bought in to the NY pizza thing. Yeah, it's the water and the dough and yada yada, who cares? It's not that serious. NY style is overrated. Pizza to me falls in three categories ONLY. Good, OK, and bad. I'm cool with OK and above. I mean it's pizza for crying out loud - there is no need to get all gourmet with pizza. Are you kiddin' me? That's one of the reasons why I can't get down with CPK. So the pizza is OK, it's not gonna make you go American Pie on it. The prices are right, not too much. They also advertise that their wings are from NY. Well what difference does that make if your gonna sauce it with sauce from CA? I mean ya mix up some Frank's and some buttah - it's not rocket science. I consider myself to be a wing connoisseur as some others claim to be all about sushi or some other dish. I know wings and these wings are nothing special. Their just OK. The same can be said of the pasta dishes. Just OK, nothing that's gonna make you think of Pauli stirring a big pot of sauce, slicing garlic and sauteing shit. One last gripe is the wait time - I always call ahead with what I want, and they always say twenty minutes for a pick up. I get there exactly twenty minutes later, mess around go into the liquor store next door, usually buy a lottery ticket or something and when I go in - I still have to wait another ten minutes. For crying out loud what is the hold up!!!

Get a slice and a salad and have a beer. All day. It was the perfect spot when I was going to school nearby and it didnt break the bank! They are so on it and friendly in there and it is one of the only places I dont get freaked out when cops stop in to eat... we all agree is f'n delish!

    (5)
  • M M.

pizza is very mediocre and gives mean heartburn everytime it never fails and I am not the only one it happens to. The only advantage to this shithole is THEY DELIVER LATE AND THEY WILL DELIVER BEER! unless you have the midnight munchies order Canadian. Deans sucks too!

Pizza's good. Ribs are okay. Haven't tried the pasta's or subs yet but hear they're good. Delivery is Awesome (latest I've seen!!!). Can order online ( delivery.com ) although it's a bit slower. People are friendly. A+

Actually...Chuck E Cheese has better pizza. Not very much room to eat in, but the pizza is only decent after a day of drinking beer when you want to run in get a pizza and salad and split.. It's horrible otherwise!! The place is decorated with Italian Americana a la "Do the right thing" ('Sal how come you don't have any African Americans on the wall?') Lots of Frank Sinatra and Al Pacino head shots, even though the staff don't look Italian. (??) I don't like half-cooked food and they cook my pizza extra well done like I like it. The staff is nice, though the anitpasto salad could do without the fake mozzarella, it is just a short drive from the crib, less chance of getting snagged by the cops for weaving up that hill after a beer. Pass on the salad...just lettuce and tomato topped with fake cheese. If you do get a salad, bring your own dressing. Ew! And get your soda next door at the market. A .99 cent soda will cost you $1.83 here. What a rip!

we ordered from them this week to be delivered. the pizza was one of the best we've had since moving to long beach, and the baked ziti was yummy too and came with a little salad and slice of garlic bread. it was a bit on the pricier side for delivery, but still we'd order from them again.

Since my 1st review, they have changed the charge for extra sauce. Thanks for hearing your customers Big E. We will definitely continue to be a regular customer. Other improvements also seen- location expanded and looks great and small take out containers are no longer flimsy paper containers. Also, the girl who always handles my pick ups is always top notch and very helpful.

Maybe you should talk to the manager on duty last Saturday night and figure out why food wasn't delivered. I spoke to the manager that night an hour after the scheduled delivery, and he had no explanation for the missed delivery, but they still charged me for the pizza.....so sad....I was a proponent of your business until this mess.

Was in the mood for some Italian food and a friend from work had recommended this spot. I called in an order for the cheese ravioli with meatballs. They give bread and salad with the order. I was going directly to meet friends and I was going to eat half and save half for later. I told the pleasant girl who took my order that I didn't want the salad. She promptly offered me extra garlic bread. Go Carbs! I thought this was really nice of them to do. I arrived early and had a chance to sit in the dining area. It's a little on the smaller side. You can tell this place does mostly delivery business. The atmosphere is nice. Lots of pics and gangster themed movie posters. There was also a tempting looking dessert case. OK so onto the food. I really really enjoyed the ravioli. They were good sized and round. The cheese filing was a creamy salty ricotta. The sauce was lightly chunky. Bits of tomato and onion and a good amount of oregano. Add in the 2 servings of tasty garlic bread and the deal was sealed. I will be back. I will try different things on the menu too. As good first experience. They are open super late on weekends for post last call grub. I recommend this place. Haven't had the pizza yet. But I already have another spot for that. ;)

Worst experience ordering delivery. EVER. We ordered at 11:30pm and got calls at 2:24AM saying that they couldn't deliver since there was a gate code when there was NO gate. Even if it were successful, why the f*ck would I want 2hr old/cold food? Nightmare. Never again.

Checked into the LB Residence Inn in Downtown LB And didn't want to go out to eat. Skimmed through some of the menus and decided to order from Big E's. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and it was pretty good. I enjoyed it. We also ordered wings, ribs and pizza and everything was good. We enjoyed our late night dinner with the family and definitely will be willing to dine at Bug E's in the future.

I wish I could give Big E a better rating but they are so hit and miss that ordering from here always makes me think of Forrest Gump 'cos it's much like a box of chocolates; You never know what you're gonna get. Unfortunately when it comes to food that's not a good thing. I must say, their homemade Thousand Island is off the hook. I usually just order the roast beef because it's delish and consistent. It's the pizza and pastas that go from good to bad depending on the day. My mom orders here quite a bit and their chicken and ribs are usually inedible to fantastic so there's no telling until it arrives. The drivers are always pleasant and we've gotten to know most of them. No complaints on that front.

We stayed at the quality Inn last night and ate at big e pizza. I had a personal thin crust Hawaiian pizzaand my husband a dinner salad. We enjoyed both and the prices are so reasonable! I would eat there again. Shelley and Philip were very attentive servers. We enjoyed our eating experience.

I've only ordered delivery from this place. I've had the meat lovers pizza. AMAZING and lots of meat for you meat loving folk. Spaghetti and meatballs were meh. The meatballs were dry. Nothing special but it was ok. BBQ chicken dinner is a good deal. Comes with the BBQ chicken, garlic bread, and a side salad. The salad had too much cheese but it was ok. I added some croutons at home LOL. Their tiramisu was too sweet but yummy. I've also tried the cinnamon stick things with the icing. Super yummy. All in all, the pizza is good. The BBQ chicken is good. They also deliver in the time frame they give you. Drivers are always VERY nice. I'm a fan.

I see the hype about this place and the food is good. Not great, but good. My fiancée and I originally planned to dine in but after the seeing the dirty tables and being handed a dirty menu we opted for take out. The gals behind the counter seemed to be quite up to date on the newest celeb gossip and who was sleeping with whom amongst their Facebook friends. Great, take my order now? Finally some service at the counter... The hostess stared awkwardly at me as I ordered and finally said, "OMG IS YOUR HAIR BLUE!!?" Yes. It is blue. Got that order? Was told 20 minutes- to avoid listening to the mindless banter we waited in the car. 40 minutes later our food was ready. Looked great, fantastic even. Got home and the center of both pies was doughy. I had to bake them in my own oven for another 15 minutes!!!! Toppings were generous, the pies were nice to look at. One star for trying. I believe much of the hype is that they really are almost always open and they deliver beer & wine. Count me out.

I simply can not believe the response from the owner of this so called "business"............. you ordered the pizza right after we opened therefore the vegies are so fresh and full of water that's the way the pizza is going to turn out...... You should order a few hours after we open. WTF, am i really hearing this????? So, what you're saying is that your customers need to wait a few hours?? why don't you have your pathetic rude unhelpful staff come in a few hours earlier so we can get pizza the way it should be, if that's what it really takes for you to get it right. So, the quality of your pizza depends on the time of day. WOW WOW WOW. This is just so wrong and disgusting......... JUST LIKE YOUR PIZZA. I don't think anyone appreciates EXCUSES. Apologize, refund the money, end of story!!!!!!!

Baked Cotto was good. Meat was lean. Chocolate 'cake' was too much fat for the taste. The tiramisu, coffee dessert, is exceptional. The basic salad was good and Italian dressing was fresh and tasty.

Big E Pizza is delicious! My gf told me the food here is really good so I wanted to try it out. So far I've tried the deluxe pizza, Philly cheesesteak pizza, wings, and cinnamon squares. They also have many different types of pastas, salads and even ribs on the menu. Deluxe pizza: Your basic pizza with a little bit of everything on it. Philly cheesesteak pizza: WOW! It tastes exactly like a Philly cheesesteak except its on a pizza! Delicious! One of the best tasting pizzas that I've had. Wings: The wings are pretty good. They come with the buffalo sauce on the side so you can control how much sauce you want on your wings. The sauce is delicious. I actually like to dip my pizza in the buffalo sauce and ranch! Cinnamon squares: It's a great dessert to finish off the meal. It's just pizza dough with cinnamon and sugar on top and white frosting on the side. Go try it, NOW!

I love this place. They have delicious calzones and if you call ahead you can usually pick yours up in about 20-30 minutes depending upon how busy they are. The calzone is very filling. I usually eat half for one meal and save the other half for later. The pizza is equally delicious. I really like the crust of the pizza. Its soft and crispy like Mexican bolio bread. Great place to meet up with friends to dine in, or carry-out back home. I live nearby so I haven't had delivery service.

Ordered here yesterday in the afternoon and requested half pepperoni half cheese. I was disappointed when asking for a 2 liter they only carry Pepsi products (yes it tastes different lmao) so I walked to the nearby liquor store to get some Coke. Literally 5 minutes after I got back from the store my pizza had arrived (talk about fast service) and it was great. The dough is soft, which I prefer. Would definitely recommend this pizza joint.

Amaze balls!!!! Just ordered delivery again tonight. Oh mamma mia the food was pretty damn good! Hands down the best overall delivery experience I've ever had with a pizza/pasta/sandwich joint. A friend and I split a very tasty Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Greek salad with Italian dressing, and last but definitely not least a heavenly slice of chocolate mousse cake. You know that feeling when you eat to capacity but not to the point of a belly ache--kinda like what you experience on Thanksgiving Day! Ok, that's me right about now. I honestly don't think I've ever had a better Fettuccine Alfredo from a food delivery service ever! I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered the chocolate mousse cake, but I'm sure glad I did. It was really, really good! If you're a chocolate addict, you'll love it! Customer service over the phone was friendly, efficient, and fast and the delivery guys are quick and courteous. I enjoyed the food and service tonight sooo much that I had to up my score from 3 to 4. Plus, they deliver till 1:00 am during the week! OMG, thank you sooo much Big E!!!! I'm definitely a fan!!!!

I'm eating at BigE Pizza tonight and I love what they have done to the place. As a critic I'm writing this to the manager / owner of BigE. When you have a big party sit them in the second room that is always closed off as reserved, please train your waiters properly for example I had to grab my own silverware after my food had arrived. When you place a pizza on the table you should offer parmesan and pepper which I had to grab myself. The servers seem lost and stand awkwardly unsure of what to do next. I'm not saying this negatively I only want your service to exceed my expectations like your food and restaurant has already done. There is plenty of seating and the food is always good I think when service meets the quality of food I will return more frequently :)

Used to really love this place and order from them many timed, but sadly it seems as if they have changed the recipe of the pizza. The cheese and sauce is more bland than ever. However I do really enjoy the Chicken Alfredo.

I ordered a large cheese pizza at around 11 O'clock LAST NIGHT. I was told the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour, but I was not worried because they are only down the street from me. I did not receive a call. I finally gave up on my pizza at 2:30. RUDE!!

Had terrible experience with this place. I was staying at the queen mary for my marine corps ball, ordered pizza at 2 in the morning, was told it would take an hour to deliver, still proceeds to order. IT NEVER FREAKIN CAME!!! They never delivered the pizza, then the next day we tried to get our money back and they accused us of lying and was extremely rude about it. Definitely not the type of business I will ever deal with again!

This spot is tasty and inexpensive . The margarita pizza is very addictive . If your a vegetarian def go with the margarita . This is not high end dinning but I rated it 5 stars because it's very tasty and doesn't cost a lot and they are consistent .

Okay I am giving this place a 3 because they stay open until 3 am and that is extremely convenient. Would I eat here during normal business hours? Probably not, but let me tell you for ordering a personal pizza garlic bread and a coke at 1 in the morning and having my food here relatively fast for a Saturday night in my location, I'm pretty satisfied. I mean come on ,so what if this is not the best place ever. They deliver until 3am! I honestly got pretty much what I expected to get. Mediocre food at BEST. But the convenience of catering to my midnight munchies tops the actual taste. I'll be trying different late night deliveries in the area, but If I can't find better(hope I can taste wise) then I'll be using big e again.

I asked them in the "special instructions" form on their ordering page online if they could please draw a dragon on the box. I've done this at other places, too, but sadly, I've always been dragonless. They actually did it. I was ELATED. The only qualms I have is that they seemed to be confused when I ordered the special coupon deal with 1 large 1 topping pizza and a 2 liter of soda. They gave me a 20 FL oz bottle. The delivery guy was amazingly sweet though and said that if I just mention it to Maria or Vanessa (or was it Veronica?) that I'll get a free 2 liter to make up for it next time I order. The pizza itself was pretty okay; I think they layed on the cheese too heavily near the middle of the pie, because when you pulled out the slices the middle/end/tip was too soggy and couldn't hold up the toppings. Other than that, pretty tasty! They would've gotten a solid 3 stars, but you know, DRAGON!!! So awesome. They made me laugh, thanks Big E pizza!

Came in for a relaxing time with my family, when we arrived the only tables available were reserved. The hostess/cashier seated us at a table and 2 of the waitress started to argue with her about us, in front of us, talk about costumer service! Needless to say I told them thanks but since we aren't wanted we'll leave and walk out. My wife was upset and went to complain thats when Liz helped us out. She gave us a table and 50% off of our bill, next the evening manager gave us a plate of wings for free. We have been coming here for a few years and this was the first time we have ever been treated this way! The food is excellent and at a great price!! I almost gave up on this place but thanks to Liz my family will continue to visit

Omg, I love BIG-E Pizza! Their food is bomb! Their open till 3am & deliver also! They're always fast, friendly, & abundant with their portions! Their expanding the restaurant & are currently undergoing remodeling for expansion next door. My favorite food would be the pineapple, sausage, mushroom, jalapeño, olive pizza, fettuccini Louie w/ sausAge pasta, spicy wings, chicken ceaser salad, & cinnamon squares! I love you BIG-E pizza and I know you love me too! Especially at 3am when I'm starving! Check in here for a 10% discount-yummmm!!!

AMAZING PIZZA! Who delivers till 2am? They do. Their pizza is great, delivery is fast and customer service is fair. I have never had a bad experience in the three years I have been ordering from them. Sober or drunk, I have never been let down!

I ordered delivery last night. It was my first experience with Big E Pizza. The good: The pizza dough was tasty and the topping tasted fresh, the cheese had almost a delicious buttery taste. The fettuccini was amazing with cheese melted on top. Negatives delivery was so slow!!!

  • Nick W.

The food was average. Reasonably priced I guess. We got a medium pizza, 6 wings and three meatballs for 17 bucks. Pros- everything tasted good, they put a lot of cheese on it, the cheese is real and flavorful. The sauce was decent and they gave us plates, napkins, forks and condiments without us even having to ask. Cons- the dough was really chewy, and because they are not stingy with the cheese, after the first slice it congeals and is chewy as well. The buffalo sauce is franks red in a plastic cup. The meat balls, I believe when they were made they were good, however by the time we got them they had to be at least 4 hours old. Overall- I liked it, but there are better pizza family owned pizza places around them. These family owned pizza places lack management and as a food service professional myself, I can taste it.

We wanted dessert. Big E's were open (until 1am) so we ended up there. We got cinnamon bread.. it actually needed more cinnamon. But it was good. I think they are all about the frosting that comes with it, which is warm and very rich. They also had chocolate mousse cake, which we got. For checking in we got 10% off. Thanks. I know it's late, but for a Mom'n'Pops type of place these people should have a better attitude. Yes, it's late, but be a little friendlier? My husband reminded me that we tried coming here before but they never acknowledged us, so we had walked out. At least they acknowledged us this time... an improvement, right? Pros: dessert options, open late, discount Cons: non - welcoming environment, cinnamon sticks need more cinnamon

This is one of the best joints around. There open always. Delivery always. And the food is AMAZIN. We order from here at least once a week. We tell everyone about it. It's like home cooked goodness. Give them a try. Their Alfredo is wicked good and they have service that's top notch.

1 hour 15 minutes and my food isn't here. Called and talked to Crystal and she was rude to me like a late pizza is my fault. I told her she should be nicer to customers on the phone and she replied "yeah, sorry". Never again.

My fam and I order here all the time usually it's pretty good, but the last time we got our pizza it looked amazing when we opened the box until we bit into it nothing but gooey dough. Yuk! I did give 3 stars because they got another pizza to us in less then 30 mins and the girl on the phone was very nice. I appreciated that very much.

It may take a while but it's well worth it. I usually get a pie of some sort and some pasta something. There is always a ton of food. My go to pizzeria!

  • Tigerlily T.

Have had the pizza here and it's just ok. Usually order the full rack of ribs dinner, comes with around 6-8 ribs, spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread. We've always been satisfied until recently. The ribs are way too tough, salad is a cheap salad, garlic bread could be better, spaghetti is plain. It's always tasted like this, but if you're starving and it's late -it tastes good. But the super toughness of the ribs, sorry we just cant do it anymore!

We needed pizza, fast, and late. I was in Long Beach and thanks to other Yelpers we called this place. They were fast, and unfortunately not accepting cash- so that's why they didn't get full 5 stars for me. I purposely took out cash earlier that day for pizza, and I don't know- it annoyed me. The one time I try to comply with the universe and have cash, they don't want it. Whatever. Anyways the pizza made up for it. It was cheesy, and very saucy. I like sauce! So for me it was delicious. I got only cheese pizza- and sometimes by the 2nd piece the cheese just bores you and you eat the 2nd piece just because. This was not the situation this time! I kept eating and eating- I never once got tired of the pizza. It was pretty good! Next time I'm in LB, I will be ordering from here! (with my debit card)

Being new to the area I wanted to try this place out. I was so disappointed with the service over the phone the lady seemed rather unfriendly told me the pizza would arrive in about 45 mins. After 1hr 15 mins the pizza arrived. I had ordered wings and a pizza both arrived almost cold the pizza was rather soggy and the wings were drowned in too much sauce. Not a great experience at all!

This was the first time I've tried Big E's, and it will be my last. The pizza was not tasty by any standards. The Red Baron frozen pizza I buy is much better. What a disappointment. I also have an issue with the staff. I had a coupon for one large, single topping pizza with a 2 liter soda for $12.99. The girl tried to tell me it was an old coupon. I told her the expiration wasn't until 12/29/2013. Then she said that their prices have gone up and that they no longer have that coupon. Um ... don't you have a legal obligation to honor the coupon??? Unfortunately, I was so tired that I let her convince me to forgo the coupon and continue with my order. I must have been super tired. Ugh. The pizza was delivered by a very friendly delivery guy. It was on time, and hot. And that's about the extent of the positives. I got a large pepperoni with extra cheese. They must not usually put much cheese on, as it seemed like just a normal amount of cheese. It was SUPER greasy too!!! And the crust was fairly thin. I don't know how they make their sauce, but they need a new recipe. It was pretty gross. I managed to eat two pieces, as I was so hungry, but then threw the rest away. What a waste!!!

I'd opt for Digiorno, honestly. Dough too thick, sauce bland, cheese ok, but toppings tasted like they came outta the freezer. Bleh!! Had a pie with ham, pep & sausage: excessive frozen sausage all over with a few pieces of hormel-outta-the-box pepperoni and cheap supermarket rectangular ham (yeah, that one). Also had a veggie: looked & tasted like frozen diced green bell peppers, canned mushrooms, onions and the dreaded diced "fresh" (quotes due to lack of color & flavor) tomatoes which just waters down pizza when the pieces are too big & theres too much of it. YUCK!! Also had antipasto & greek salads. Antipasto was 90% iceberg lettuce and, yes, that ugly hormel pepperoni plus bland italian dressing. Greek salad wasn't toooo bad, had a blend of veggies, decent kalamatas and a whole lotta feta (I heart feta!). To their credit, the food order was correct and delivered on time. We ordered in for a staff lunch paid for by a 3rd party and the poor non-English speaking driver didn't know how to deal with that so we spent quite a bit of time on the phone while 3 people had to figure it all out for him. Let's not forget these folks are also responsible for preparing the sub-par food. So, I'd say overall service = 2 stars. 1 star for pizzeria pizza, 2 stars for frozen pizza...adjust your expectations accordingly (but keep em low)!

  • Joseph M.

Best pizza I've ever tasted! When u order chicken as a topping at places like dominos or pizza hut u get small pieces of thawed out bland chicken. Big E's on the other hand gives u chicken strips seasoned to perfection! Order the chicken and bacon pizza, guaranteed you'll be hooked like crack! Best part is they're open till 3am and serve beer, what more can u ask outta a pizza joint. 5 STARS!!

Edit: 2/16/13 10:12pm Jimmy called me and personally apologized for the tonight's snafu. After seeing how professionally he handled the situation, I'm confident that if I have any more issues in the future with Big E Pizza, he'll be there to help sort them out. This place will continue to have my business (my stomach gurgles happily). _________________________________________ This restaurant has a really odd thing going on with their phones, I called to place my order. The girl I was talking to was getting yelled at by another girl to answer the other ringing phone. Instead of placing me on hold to get it, the girl went ahead and started to confirm my order. The phone on her end got really choppy and I kept telling her "I can't hear you." I told her I had to hang up and would call her back. I spent 15 minutes trying to call the same phone number back, only for the other end of the line to tell me the number is not a working number, or it hung up on me. The 15 minutes I spent in limbo left me confused as to whether I should order from another pizza company or not (did I order a Big E pizza or not? Would I ever get through?). *Big E's has my phone number and is fully capable of calling me before sending a delivery guy out before giving me my order total. When I eventually did get a hold of the same girl, she pulled up my order and apologized. She told me they had to "reboot" the phones. I was asking about my order and such and the fact that we were in the middle of confirming it (mind you I had NOT been told a total or anything). I also wanted to be sure the delivery man had instructions on how to get into my secure building. She told me he had already left with my food. *He showed up shortly after. I'm sorry, but this rubs me the wrong way.

There is definitely much better pizza for the same price, if not cheaper. There is way too much crust, and the dough is too chewy. The worst part is that the charge a $3 delivery fee (one of the highest I've ever seen) which is listed NOWHERE on their website. Then I'm told they're only accepting cards, and I find out after I'm charged there was also a $.50 charge for using my card. Some shady business for pizza that is definitely not worth it.

AMAZING!!!!!! I cannot recommend this place enough, it is incredible! Great price, Great food, Great quality, Great service, Great efficiency! This is our go to spot, we order at least twice a week and it is always perfect! Have never been disappointed, the food is always amazing and you get so much for your money! Greatest place I have come across, cannot say enough good things about Big E, you have to give them a try, you will be happy you did, absolutely wonderful!!!

I tried this place out last night. The atmosphere was nice, it's nicely decorated but it's pretty small. I loved the decor. Customer service sucked. Cashier seemed a bit rude and waitress as well. They didn't say much but their attitudes spoke volumes, it was 8pm so maybe they were ready to go home. The pizza had good flavor but the toppings and cheese slid off as i ate it. It made it difficult & messy to eat.

Is this the best pizza in Long Beach, no. But hold on! It's real good, open later than anyone else and deliver beer! These are concepts that need to be copied. You can order online and their web service is better than Pizza Hut , papa johns or dominoes!! These guys have been great to us local bar folk for years, lets hope they are for many more. And to the person crying about the salad?!?!? It's a delivery pizza joint, why are you ordering SALAD!! and I've had there salad at the San Pedro location (please don't ask why) it was great!!!

Last night was the first time I tried Big E's for subs and it was delicious! We ordered a chicken Parmesan sub which was delivered to me on a hot crunchy 'baggette' style bread. My 'picky eater' boyfriend INHALED that sub. We also ordered some cinnamon squares, which were ok, there was no cinnamon on them lol, and it was served with a side of 'jet puff' marshmallow like stuff; it was a quick sugar fix. When I originally called in, I was placing my order with the manager who was very polite and was placed on hold. After a mix up, some girl took my order and that was that. I found it very professional and nice that the manager called me to apologize for the mix up and explain the situation to me, although none was needed. All in all very great delivery experience my food came very quickly even though they estimated 45-1hr wait. Can't wait to try the rest of your subs!

Chicago deep dish the best!! Their sauce is just perfection. Nice and smooth flows right with the gooey mozzarella cheese that stretches as you bite into. All of this on top of a fresh made fluffy dough. I added feta cheese and basil and man did my taste buds just experience what a pizza is suppose to taste like. I wish I lived near big e's. Keep it simple and you will appreciate their amazing pizza heaven in a box.

Decided to get some delivery from here on a whim - I was growing tired of my usual specials from the neighborhood. After exploring the menu and reading other great reviews on Yelp I decided to take a leap of faith into their pasta pool. I ordered beef ravioli and yessssssssss it was delicious. First off, my food came piping hot. If you have ever ordered Italian I am sure you have experienced lukewarm delivery once it hits your door. This plate was so hot that it nearly burned my fingers when ripping it out from the bag. The thing that I have found, however, is that these pastas taste way better the next day. All the flavors melt together and just taste scrumptious for lunch.

All I can say is this place is awesome! I had guest over and really didn't know if we should go out to dinner or stay in. We decided to order from Big E and man I man there good is the bomb! I just ordered delivery from Eat24.. I ordered the ribs and lasagna for myself and the spaghetti and meatballs for my husband. The ribs were awesome, I got 5 juicy beef ribs along with a delicious lasagna. The meatballs were a bit over done and that's why I knocked off 1 star... but all in all for $30, I got food for 2 meals... not bad at all!

This place is just great. Whenever I have a late night craving because I drank too much this is the pizza spot I hit up. They have everything too! Sandwiches, pizza, pasta, salads, BBQ, desserts, beer and wine! They also deliver the beer and wine, which makes me so happy. This place knows how to make pizza and the 45-1 hr wait to get it is well worth it. I have sampled so many pizzas from this place and it is some of the best pizza I've had. I don't love the crust, but I usually prefer thin crust. They will make it any way you want and it has the perfect amount of cheese. I also really like their simple side salad and their wings are some of my favorite. Good wings are sometimes hard to come by, but they've got it down! They give you plenty of sides and all the fixings like plates and utensils to enjoy your food mess free. Big E's. You're going to make me fat!

Food is always great! but I rather get my food at night because the pizza has more flavor, in the morning is lacking of flavor, i don't know why. the only thing at night is the service, service sucks. So many employees in front of the fountain drinks machine, just talking and gossiping. But besides all that food is great, round of applause to the cooks. I hope they get credit for it. A loyal customer.

Was staying in the area and after a hot day outside I wasn't going to leave my hotel room. The room had two choices, city something pizza or that game pizza, looked at their reviews and they didn't look promising at all. So I found this place on yelp and read a few reviews and went for it. Ordered a full order of hot wings and a pepperoni and jalapeño large pizza. The hot wings were meaty and it came with two dipping sauces, buffalo sauce and ranch. The pizza had real cheese, pepperoni was plenty and so were the jalapeños. Service to my door was fast, they use the eat24 ordering system and they were a few blocks down. Great pizza and great service. Now I know another location I can pick up from.

So while the food is good as always, I admit I'm a little disappointed by the service this time. There were no plates, no napkins, no utensils and the driver initially insisted that I owed cash when I used the Eat 24 app. One of the reasons I you order from Big E is because I don't have to worry about doing dishes afterwards. As I said I'm disappointed. I'm giving it to three because the food was good but I take customer service very seriously. If this is an oversight on your part this one time, forgiven. However, if it should occur again I will only assume that this is a new decline in service. I've spent hundreds of dollars with Big E and I would hate to end that relationship. Customer experience is everything to me.

Good pizza at a good price. This is my go to late night pizza place after hitting the bars in LBC, or when I just want to be a bum and watch Netflix on the sofa. The large pizza is a good size and the sauce is not too sweet and full of flavor. The cheese is also delish (some places use gross cheese) and the crust is not too thick, not too thin. Good pizza spot.

  • Arthur S.

Big E Pizza is great because they offer a lot of variety and just about everything on their menu is good. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it's respectable quality and given the large variety of their menu and friendly customer service, I enjoy ordering from here. I took off a star because there were a few times where my order was wrong. However, I've worked at a pizza shop before and know how easy it can be to screw up an order on a Friday. This doesn't justify the mistake, but what kept me from taking off another star was how quick they were to correct it. When I picked up the order from store, they quickly offered to remake the pizza and gave me a credit for a future order. The staff were incredibly friendly, apologetic and respectful the entire time. This place can get insanely busy in the evenings, so I usually choose to do carry outs because I'd rather leave my apartment and have it be ready by the time I arrive instead of wait 2 hours. The main thing I respect about this store is the customer service, which from my experience has always been friendly and helpful.

The verdict is still out on this place as I'm currently awaiting their delivery but I'll definitely give 5 stars to them being the ONLY, repeat ONLLLLLY place within the Signal Hill / Beach / Shore area that delivers til 1am throughout the week and 3am on weekends! The fact that they deliver booze as well deserves a 6th star!!!! Big up's to BIG E!!!!!!! ___________ VERDICT: ^ ^ This place kicks ass and has upped the bar quite high for all of the competition. Great job guiz....

This place was pretty bomb for my late Friday night pizza fix! I work far and sometimes get home too late. This last Friday was one of those nights and I was also hungry. I found this place on the eat24 app and saw that it still delivered late! Not only did my food come within 45min of ordering online, but I also could order their full menu past midnight! I got the fettuccine meatball pasta which was extra extra cheesy. I didn't know the dish came with garlic bread and a salad too! (Which is why I way over ordered). Their deep dish pizza isn't a true Chicago style deep dish, but it's a good thick crust pizza. I also got a side of breadsticks. Everything was hot and delicious, could not ask for anything more after working such a long day and at such a late time of the night. Would recommend for people looking for a late night fix! They'll deliver it all! :)

The delivery is fast and efficient the pizza is tasty I really like the sauce, the crust is tasty and the toppings are fresh. What more could you ask for? They even made the normal hand tossed crust thin and crispy for me. That is always a plus in my book.

Our experience wasn't so great. The pizza was great but the customer service could & should be improved. When we called them at midnight to place an order they told us that they will call us back with the total. They never did. We never agreed on payment and after 20 minutes passed we ended up ordering pizza from a different pizza parlor. After an hour passing our hotel front desk buzzed us saying that "your pizza is here".... they never provided a total for us and the delivery guy wanted to be paid cash only. It would have been nice to receive that call back so we didn't have to run to an ATM upon receiving the pizza. Needless to say more pizza never hurt anyone but the poor communication within this company and unnecessary confusion for our party was a downer.

When I want to have pizza and wings I definitely recommend Big E's. It's perfect for dinning in, specially since they remodeled it, it looks amazing. Service is always friendly.

We always have this pizza delivered late night to the hospital and it's always good! Lots of toppings and very large salads. Plus they know we don't have dishes in the ICU so they always bring us paper plates which is awesome!

Well I don't write much but I have to say something. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for a few times. The food has been exceptional for a pizza place. The interior is not bad, better than a pizza place should be. But here it comes. we went there yesterday late afternoon for Dinner. My boyfriend ordered Baked Penne Pasta with chicken. I had spaghetti with marinara sauce, The meal comes with Garlic Bread and a lovely Salad. The waitress brought our salads and we began to enjoy the meal and have a lovely dinner. I noticed my BF spitting his food into a napkin which is unlike him, he is a classy guy. He showed me a PRESS ON FINGERNAIL that he had gotten in his bite of salad. Not a piece or a broken nail, the whole Nail. In my opinion that is Nasty andTerrible, The waitress was paying attention to her friends in the dining room, and we noticed that while she was serving food she has a habit of putting her thumb in the bowl of food to balance it But the fingernail was an index or pointing finger nail. Something that disgusting did not deserve a picture. He took the fingernail to the manager, the Waitress comment was something like "Oh I wondered what happened to my nail." The manager tried to make ammends by cutting the cost of the meal almost in half for both of us but really? We are considering whether or not we will return. At least no more salads or better yet carry out only. This is a biggie on the Yuck scale, accidents happen but that was totally avoidable by using proper serving methods.

Sooooo...fugghedabout the Fuggedaboutit Salad :/ At home with my newborn and no food in the house, so I placed an order for a lunch pizza and the Fugghedaboutit salad ($7.75) online to have later, for dinner. Received a call shortly after that they didn't have the ingredients to make the salad. So, I asked, "well, what's missing?". The lady said "Basically the whole salad". So then I asked if they'd have the ingredients later today...maybe delivery could be made later? (I live one street up from Big E). After being put on hold, she shared she didn't know when they'd have ingredients again for this salad- choose another. So then I chose the Greek Salad ($7.20), but asked if I could have chicken added. After being put on hold again, I was told yes, but I'd have to pay an additional $2 and some change. Really? The salad I wanted in the first place isn't available, and the rest of the salads really don't sound like anything I want. I ended up settling on the Chef Salad ($7.20). I know I may sound whiny, but I feel like a customer service opportunity was missed here. 1) If an item is on your permanent menu (not a special), you need to have it available (or put "while supplies last") to prevent customer disappointment. 2) If you're not able to come through with a customer order, you need to make it right. Really, for what's on the Fugg...salad versus what's on the Greek Salad, would it have really broken the store to just throw some chicken on it, if it meant a customer would be a little less disappointed? 3) Train your customer service people to be phone friendly, and at least fake being "sorry for the inconvenience" when having to resolve a customer situation that's the business' fault. All I got was "The driver will bring the difference in the salads-change-to you", "OK Bye". Not. Happy.

I'm a long time customer for big E's pizza. I was really disappointed on my buffalo wings, they give me not even half of a ramekin of buffalo sauce for a dozen of wings. I called back the lady gives me attitude about the situation and tries brush me off with "I can give you a dollar credit for your next purchase". I work in service industry for 9 years that's not how you handle the situation. I order HOT wings not wings with a splash of sauce. I hate writing a bad yelp especially for big E's but come on service is everything.

people that have placed 5 stars on yelp for this place do not know anything about pizza or food. the pizza was soggy and had way too much cheese on it. We ordered wings and they were soggy as can be and slimey. Couldn't finish them. very gross. I think this place has been around to long and has lost its touch years ago. Me and my girlfriend got ill for a few days due to this restaurant.

I've been coming here off and on for a number of years. Recently they bought out the liquor store and expanded. So shortly there after we took the bro-in-law, for pizza and the service and quality was horrible. The pizza was soggy and the service was underpar, so we decided not to frequent as much. I had seen Mr. Big E's White Escalade driving around the neighborhood and was tempted to tell him I had fuggatten about it. However, today I tromped in with my daughter and three of her friends. I tried to sit us in a corner so that we didn't disturb other patrons. I try to be one of those conscience parents. I want to commend BIG E's by getting back on track, but not only responding to their Yelp reviews especially the negative, and for taking action. Servers more helpful, several servers came over several times to see if everything was ok and best of all pizza was how I remembered it. We will be re-frequenting.

Ordered a simple medium pepperoni/sausage/bellpepper pizza at 11:20pm and didn't get it until after 1:30am. I had to call them 3x after over an hour of waiting. They are driving distance 5 minutes from my house . The owner was beyond rude over the phone and even wanted to argue with me. The driver came and I didn't see the missed call.. 4 MINUTES later the driver left and I called owner and asked him why the driver couldn't turn back around or why they didn't wait even 5 minutes after hooours of me waiting for the pizza. The pizza was horrible and falling apart I have proof of all the call logs and I know I was being lied to and they have 0 customer service and I can't believe I paid $19.84. What a mistake. The owner even told me to wait outside for driver...I'm a FEMALE ...why would I wait outside by myself/put myself in danger over a damn pizza. O stars.

Waited 30+ minutes for a salad and garlic bread. Had to ask twice in regards to the status if the order. The lady at the register had an attitude when giving the food to us. Brought two friends with me to impress them. They were not impressed. Pretty terrible experience

Great place! Really great for a place that stays open super late. Cheese ravioli with a side of grilled mushrooms to throw on top; I wanted mushroom ravioli, but they didn't have it. Yeah, it would be nice if they had healthier choices like that. But they accommodated me well. My bf liked the pizza. Cheese bread was good, too. The service was great. Yeah, no complaints! The person who said the cheese tasted like gum; I couldn't stop thinking about that while I was eating it, thanks! Lol #sarcasm. It kinda did if you thought about it that way.

For a place seven blocks away, it took over an hour for delivery. When my food came, it was cold, gelatinous, and completely inedible. I'm sure to order there again, because there is absolutely no way they can be as bad as their first impression. James E. makes the excuse that it's because they're so in demand, the driver went to the wrong address and instead of just sending me a fresh order, they just gave me the cold food instead. I have the online receipt that proves I gave the right address, so the break down in communication on the store's side is also a result of how "in demand" their pizzas are I suppose. I'll help elevate your burden by taking my business elsewhere so hopefully someone else can have a better experience than I did.

Pretty good pizza even at the coupon price. Large three toppings - 10.50 mon-Thursday (I think) The only problem I have and this is why I give four stars is that when you ask for the wings well done they give the sauce on the side (not a problem) but they didn't even fill the container the sauce comes in. Not even half full.

This place is A+, occasionally come here after work to get pizza and wings. The late hours are really convenient and the employees are always nice and patient even at that time of night. Very affordable and the pizza is great! This place is definitely a favorite of mine.

Wow. Corey L's review couldn't be more accurate. I decided to order despite reading the review because I know they are expanding their location and somehow they still have 4 stars on this website. However I am sitting here staring at what I believed to be is a pizza it looks like one however it doesn't taste like one I can't really describe this I am a pizza lover and this is just weird. I definitely know that the sauce must be made in a jar because it tastes like the Lunchables pizza sauce from Oscar Meyer and every single piece of cheese comes off of it perfectly in one chunk. I don't even know what kind of cheese this is thank God the dough its OK because I am starving lol and the salad does come like it is french fries or some thing all wrapped in parchment paper and 90 percent iceberg. I had to pause the movie I just wanted to write this because I am so sad lol. Yuck. Ps. I only gave it 2 stars bc it arrived in 25 min.

So tonight I ordered two large pizzas for my family .. Shortly after eating my entire family got sick with severe vomiting.I've ordered from them many times before so I was a bit surprised. I immediately called and spoke to the manager Omar and explained to him what happened. He took my info down and hung up. No apology or anything. Just said ok and hung up. Normally I don't write reviews but the fact that a simple apology wasn't given lets you know how poor there customer service is.. Would I order again from them ? Absolutely not. If my family got sick, that pretty much tells me that sanitary precautions or not being used there. .. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!!!!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
